"Voltei do inferno". Assim iniciou seu discurso o ex-refém israelense do grupo terrorista Hamas Eli Sharabi, de 53 anos, à ONU, em março de 2025.

"Em 7 de outubro (de 2023), meu céu se tornou um inferno", reforçou.

Sharabi foi sequestrado de sua casa no kibutz Be'eri, no sul de Israel, ficou 491 dias em cativeiro onde viveu seus piores pesadelos e, quando foi libertado, soube que sua esposa, suas duas filhas e seu irmão haviam sido assassinados pelo Hamas.

Para contar tudo o que passou e como conseguiu sobreviver, escreveu o livro "Refém: 491 dias nas mãos do Hamas", campeão de vendas em vários países.

O israelense estará no Brasil para divulgar o livro na versão em português, nos próximos dias 27 (no Rio de Janeiro) e 29 (em São Paulo), em eventos da StandWithUs Brasil.

Sharabi falará para o público sobre sua trajetória e como manter a esperança e a fé.

Uma família israelense foi barrada no Samui Exotic Park, em Koh Samui, na Tailândia, depois que funcionários descobriram que eles eram de Israel. Segundo o portal Ynet, Moran e Naveh, moradores de Rosh HaAyin, estavam em férias com as filhas de 6 e 9 anos quando um funcionário perguntou de onde eram. Ao responderem que eram israelenses, ouviram que israelenses não podiam entrar no local.

A família relatou que, ao tentar argumentar, porque as crianças aguardavam a visita, outro funcionário foi chamado, fez sinal para que saíssem, xingou Naveh e o agrediu na frente das meninas. Moran afirmou que as filhas ficaram extremamente assustadas.

O caso ficou ainda mais grave após publicações atribuídas ao dono do parque. Em uma resposta a uma avaliação online, ele escreveu: “Sim, israelenses não entram no meu parque. É simples assim”. Depois, segundo imagens que circularam nas redes, ele publicou uma placa com a bandeira de Israel marcada com símbolo de “proibido entrar” ao lado de algo semelhante a um alvo de tiro.

A polícia turística da Tailândia está investigando o caso.

Em 15 de agosto de 2005, Israel iniciou a retirada de todos os civis e soldados de seus assentamentos na Faixa de Gaza, incluindo a exumação de corpos enterrados na região. A retirada tinha como objetivo reduzir o conflito e criar condições mais favoráveis para a paz. Mas o que aconteceu depois foi muito diferente.

Em 2006, o Hamas venceu as eleições legislativas palestinas. No ano seguinte, tomou violentamente o controle da Faixa de Gaza da Autoridade Palestina, executando opositores e reprimindo a dissidência.

Desde então, a região foi palco de sucessivos conflitos e ataques terroristas contra Israel. Até que, em 7 de outubro de 2023, o Hamas liderou o massacre que matou mais de 1.200 pessoas em Israel e sequestrou 251 pessoas, dando início à guerra que marcou os últimos anos.

O Hamas poderia ter escolhido a paz, mas preferiu semear o terror. A história da retirada de Gaza ajuda a entender uma questão que continua central até hoje: o que acontece quando uma oportunidade de construir a paz é substituída pela violência e pelo terrorismo?
