Israel's intelligence monitors everything, and the planning required for this coordinated, well-equipped attack would have triggered numerous red flags inside Israeli intelligence. No, this attack was ALLOWED to happen. Israel needed a 9/11-style event to garner public support for a larger offensive being planned against Iran. So Israel was willing to sacrifice a few thousand of its own people to sway public opinion. Their plan has worked. Israel's defense minister says #Israel is laying SIEGE to the Gaza Strip, cutting off supplies of food, water, fuel and electricity to the 2+ million civilian residents who live there. Although the actions of #Hamas attacks against Israel were abhorrent and barbarous, personally I cannot condone the punishing of 2 million civilians - women, children, elderly - by forcing them to starve to death, to die from dehydration, to shut down the power for their hospitals and health clinics, and to force their sewage systems to fail, causing widespread outbreaks of cholera and waterborne diseases. Israel's siege tactics, aimed at civilians in Gaza, are themselves barbaric and consist of war crimes under established UN conventions. To target an entire ethnic group of civilians with death by famine, dehydration and disease while they are under kinetic bombardment is unacceptable. It is #genocide.

It is astonishing to me how many conservatives are now coming out in FAVOR of #genocide against Palestinian civilians. To argue that because #Hamas committed outrageous violence, therefore all Palestinians should be slaughtered, is the same as arguing that because some whites are skinhead racists, therefore all whites should be exterminated. It's mindless, stupid and dangerous.

The claim that "Hamas cut off the heads of Israeli babies" is such obvious FAKE NEWS that it actually repeats nearly the exact same fake news claim from 1990, known as the "Nayirah hoax" in which the Bush-run CIA compelled a Kuwaiti girl to give completely false testimony claiming Iraqi soldiers committed similar atrocities against babies there (removing them from incubators to make them die). This totally fake claim was initially "confirmed" by Amnesty International, then was later exposed as a complete hoax. And now, 30+ years later, the exact same hoax is being pushed again, and weak-minded people are falling for it all over again. I am astonished to learn how many people with ties to Israel are completely unaware that Israel is bombing civilian residential areas of Gaza, killing children, killing rescue workers, and have cut off water, power, food and fuel to 2+ million civilian people there which will lead to starvation, disease and mass death.
