No matter what, self made abortion or suicide can have huge consequences to the life of the person doing that, but even other persons (in case of abortion, maybe considered as criminal in some countries ...), without talking that this is more inhumane than taking a lethal dosis with a death sentence ...
Conclusion: ignoring such things doesn't fix the problem, it make problems just worse ... but then we are talking about the inhumanity of a death sentence ... which is less inhumane compared to die doing active suicide or abortion
