The fact that NYT is trying to reframe the bipartisan tiktok ban as something desirable because orange man now actually doesn't want it banned and democrats support it shows just how utterly soulless and corrupt these sleazebag slimy worms are in their ball gargling of the bourgeois. This ban is NOT designed to protect americans from data harvesting or china, it is simply a tool for an unprecedented amount of legal pathways for the government to censor the internet. Every single article in the bill could be equally applied to literally any social media platform that just happens to have offices in any other country, and is a fucking draconian overreach of the government and stomps all over the first amendment.
