On August 2, a 44-year-old man scaled the north tower on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge, affixed multiple flags, stripped naked, and jumped into the East River from ~83 meters up; NYPD Emergency Services Unit officers tried to talk him down before he leapt, after which the Harbor Unit pulled him from the water and took him to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
