🇸🇦❌🇾🇪 — Saudi Arabia is expected to announce a new multinational Red Sea military coalition aimed at countering the Houthi (Ansarallah) efforts to restrict shipping through the Bab al-Mandab Strait as early as Thursday, Al-Monitor reported.

➡️ The coalition would be headquartered in Riyadh under Saudi command, with around 50 countries invited to participate, including the United States, Egypt, Pakistan, Türkiye, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Djibouti, Somalia, and Sudan. However, U.S. participation has not yet been decided, and officials said Washington's support is seen as essential for the initiative's credibility.

➡️ France, Germany, and Italy are waiting on the U.S. decision before committing, while Oman is considered unlikely to join because of its role as a mediator with Iran. The UAE had reportedly not yet been invited.
