📌 In this passage, a beach crab risks harm to catch glimpse of its overhead predators.

📄 It darts out of the meter-deep beach burrow. Rotating stalked eyes at the pirouetting gulls, the white-clawed ghost crab steals a glance at its predators and envies their carefree squawking. 'So easily do they make friends', the crab gasps while risking the daylight it usually avoids. Although the hard-shelled creature has changed its color to match the sand, it still retreats back to the safety of its solitary haven. 📃

📄 As I stood, a warm breeze brought the smell of rain. Directly ahead, a deer and her fawn paused from grazing to inspect me. Suddenly, I was transported back to the family reunion where I had told everyone my plans to travel and live off the grid. That was a year and thousands of kilometers ago. Even without a mobile, I'm more connected with the world today than I've ever been. All the white noise of modern society has been drowned out by the powerful silence and solitude of Mother Nature.📃
