"NEW: Iranian regime media claimed that the emerging Iran-Oman deal would enable Iran to maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz. Any agreement that grants Iran control over the strait would be detrimental to US and global commercial interests. Achieving international recognition of its control over the strait would enable Iran to use the strait as a deterrent against its adversaries in potential future conflicts.

Other Key Takeaways:

Iran continues to use force to consolidate its control of the strait. United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on August 5 that a vessel’s crew heard two explosions while passing through Omani territorial waters.

Iran and its Axis of Resistance are likely attempting to deter the Syrian government from disrupting smuggling routes used to support Hezbollah.

Iran likely believes that continued Syrian government efforts to disrupt Hezbollah smuggling routes in Syria represent Syrian cooperation with Israel and the United States against Hezbollah when, in reality, Syria is exercising its sovereign right to secure its borders.

ISW-CTP is considering two possible courses of action for Iran in Syria.

The Syrian government has deployed an increased number of forces to the Syria-Iraq border to support border security in response to Iranian and Axis of Resistance threats and activity.

The activities of Iran and the Axis of Resistance across the region, including their reported actions in Syria, are likely causing an increasing alignment of interests between different regional states.

The Houthis conducted missile and drone attacks against the Republic of Yemen Government (ROYG) military camps in Marib and Hadramawt governorates on August 6, possibly in response to ROYG ground movements near Houthi frontlines."

✍️ The Ukrainian terrorist campaign against Wildberries continued on the night of August 7th, with Ukrainian drones now detected near Yekaterinburg.

On the night of August 7th, air defense units destroyed at least 203 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). During the day on August 6th, they were even more active, shooting down 281 drones.

▪️ As mentioned above, the target of this attack was Yekaterinburg. Currently, all Ukrainian media attention is focused on the Wildberries warehouse in the Sverdlovsk region.

Air defense units were shooting down "Lutyi" type UAVs, but as a result of one of them crashing, a fire broke out, which firefighters are currently trying to extinguish.

In addition, UAVs were also shot down in the Perm region, as well as in the Republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, and in the Tver region, likely on a route to northern regions of Russia.

❗️ Regarding the attack on Yekaterinburg, the UAVs flew along a route through the Saratov and Nizhny Novgorod regions, and it is also possible that along the border with Kazakhstan."

On the night of August 7, 2026, as part of reducing the offensive potential of the Russian aggressor, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit an early detection radar station near Olenivka and a place of storage, preparation and launch of strike UAVs in the Gvardiyske area. Both facilities are located in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea.

⚡️It was also confirmed that two ground repeaters for controlling strike UAVs of the "Geran"/"Gerbera" type were hit - in Olenivka (AR Crimea) and Zalizny Port (Kherson region).
ℹ️ Ground repeaters provide stable communication and transmission of commands between operators and strike unmanned aerial vehicles, increasing the range and effectiveness of their use.

⚡️In addition, our soldiers struck the enemy's fuel and lubricants warehouse in the Melitopol area and the repair unit of the occupation forces near Yakymovka, Zaporizhia region."

🇺🇦🇷🇺⭐️ Rybar:

"Wildberries Logistics Under Fire

Since mid-July, Ukrainian forces have launched a new campaign of attacks on targets within Russia. This time, the targets are civilian enterprises; warehouses belonging to the Wildberries company, which accounts for a significant portion of online sales in the country.

The attacks span cities in the European part of the country, as well as settlements as far east as the Ural region. In some cases, the operations of these centers have been temporarily suspended, while in others, they have been completely paralyzed.

➡️The most significant material damage has been reported in Alekseevo, Volgograd, and Sarapul, where the operations of sorting centers had to be completely shut down. Facilities in Penza and Shushary also suffered serious damage, and in Novosaratovka and Khryastovo, warehouse employees were injured.

➡️There have been instances where personnel were evacuated due to the threat of drone attacks, and the warehouses themselves were not significantly damaged; for example, in Voronezh and Zelenodolsk, the centers quickly resumed operations. However, even these incidents cause disruptions and force the restructuring of logistics chains.

Large Wildberries warehouse complexes remain within the reach of the enemy and are likely to remain priority targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy will continue to target them in order to disrupt logistics and slow down the delivery of goods, which will directly impact the entire supply chain.

📌Under these conditions, it is essential to integrate all means of counteraction and detection into a single system. Despite the fact that Wildberries management is already installing anti-drone nets and other protective measures, continued coordination with law enforcement agencies is necessary to minimize the consequences of further attacks.

🇩🇪🕵️‍♂️💥⁉️🇩🇪 BILD:

"German Security Council Holds Secret Meeting Due to Drone with Explosives in Leipzig

According to Steffen Cornelius, spokesperson for the German government, the National Security Council held a meeting at the Chancellery. The meeting was chaired by Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who participated via video link from his vacation. The agenda included the incident involving a drone that carried a bomb at Leipzig Airport. Investigators suspect that this was a hybrid attack by foreign powers. The Federal Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into suspected state terrorism.

In addition to Scholz, the meeting was attended by the head of the Chancellery, Nina Warven, senior government officials, as well as the heads of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) and the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The main question for the government now is how to protect Germany from such attacks.

💬 Thomas Röwekamp, Chairman of the Defense Committee, told Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland that there is a need for centralization within the Ministry of the Interior:

"We need centralized responsibility instead of numerous federal aviation security agencies, and equipment that can reliably counter the variety of threats."

💬 Marcel Emmerich, the Green Party's expert on domestic policy, also criticizes the weaknesses of the drone defense system:

"We cannot rely on the fact that a bus driver or another airport employee will accidentally spot a drone in the sky."

💬 Terrorism expert Peter Neumann also believes that Germany is poorly prepared:

"We have been talking about this for years, but in reality, essentially nothing has changed"

— he said on the ZDF program "Heute Journal."

Was the Drone Sent by Russia? If So, It's an "Act of War"

Suspicion of involvement in the drone incident falls on Russian intelligence services, but there is currently no evidence to support this. Sebastian Fiedler, the SPD's expert on domestic policy, told ZDF:

"Either it was Russia, or someone wanted it to look like it was Russia."

If suspicions about Russia are confirmed, "then we are talking about an act of war," added Fiedler."

"Attempt on the Life of a German Drone Supplier Planned for Ukraine

According to an investigation by the German newspaper Die Zeit, German entrepreneur Stefan Tuman was the target of an assassination attempt planned by individuals linked to Russian intelligence services. Tuman's startup, Donaustahl, supplies Ukraine with reconnaissance and attack drones.

According to Zeit, a Ukrainian citizen, Sergei N., had been conducting surveillance on Tuman's residence in Straßkirchen, Lower Bavaria, as early as December 2025. Bavarian investigators arrested him after receiving a tip from a foreign intelligence agency, but the man was eventually released due to a lack of evidence. Only after investigators analyzed his phone data did they realize that N. had been monitoring not only Tuman but also his father, and they found evidence of his contacts with a Russian intelligence agency. However, by that time, N. had already left Germany.

Sergei N. was eventually apprehended – in March, in Spain. His alleged accomplice from Romania was also later located. Since then, according to Zeit, Tuman has been under increased protection.

🇷🇺⚡️⚡️‼️💥🇺🇦🇩🇪 BILD:

"Russia is equipping its submarines with anti-drone nets. An investigation by Business Insider reporter Jake Epstein:

New satellite images taken by the American space intelligence firm Vantor and analyzed by Business Insider have revealed submarines at the Rybachiy base in Kamchatka covered with anti-drone nets. In May, the images showed only two submarines covered with nets at this base. Now, there are more than half a dozen.

The Rybachiy base is a key hub of the Russian Pacific Fleet and services, among other things, nuclear submarines carrying ballistic missiles. Rybachiy is located more than 7,000 km east of Ukraine. The appearance of anti-drone nets so far from the combat zone indicates that Russia believes it is vulnerable to drone attacks even in the Far East.

Previously, Ukraine has carried out strikes on targets deep within Russia, launching drones not from its own territory, but from within Russia. As part of the "Web" operation in June 2025, swarms of drones attacked Russian air bases in the Arctic, Siberia, and even the Far East.

Vantor's June images also show that Russia has equipped at least three submarines in Novorossiysk with anti-drone cages, which protect the control rooms."

🇺🇸🇺🇦📰🥇🏆🔫🇷🇺📰 ZeroHedge | The West Is Winning The Information War While Russia Prevails On The Battlefield | August 6, 2026:

"I stumbled across something pretty bizarre today when I queried one of the AI-search engines about Russia’s capture of territory in Ukraine in 2026. Here is what the Chinese KIMI claimed:

The evidence from multiple sources — including Ukrainian official claims, Western think tanks, and Ukrainian independent trackers — suggests that Ukraine recaptured substantially more territory than Russia captured during the first half of 2026, driven by the southern counteroffensive. However, the pace of Ukrainian gains has slowed since spring, and Russia has made small net gains in recent months (June–July). The overall net for the full year so far appears to still favor Ukraine, but the margin and the exact numbers depend heavily on whose methodology you use.

There you have it… Ukraine is winning the war on the ground according to AI. Let me emphasize that you will find this same propaganda on GROK or Claude. The Western propaganda effort is paying dividends on the information operation side of the house. Even the Chinese-coders who created KIMI are pushing Western propaganda.

So let me give you the actual rundown for 2026. Russia started 2026 with Gerasimov’s report to Putin announcing the liberation of Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) — the Donetsk logistics hub under siege for nearly two years — and of Vovchansk in Kharkiv. Through November of 2025 the MoD had reported a steady run of captures, including Petrovskoye in the DPR and Tikhoye and Otradnoye in Dnepropetrovsk.

Moving into the spring of 2026, TASS reported that Russian forces liberated 63 settlements from March through May 2026 — 20 in March, 16 in April, and 27 in May, the strongest month. The regional breakdown was 21 in Kharkiv Region, 19 in the DPR, 14 in Sumy, six in Zaporozhye, and three in Dnepropetrovsk. The Sumy and Kharkiv gains are framed by Moscow as building a “security zone” along the Russian border.

By early summer (June), Gerasimov reported that Russian forces were continuing the liberation of “Donbass and Novorossiya,” advancing on all fronts. The 3rd Army was advancing toward Slavyansk and Kramatorsk — liberating Piskunovka, reaching the outskirts of Nikolayevka, and reported to be less than 5 km from the eastern edge of Kramatorsk, with the capture of Krasny Liman (Lyman) said to be due soon.

Battlegroup West advanced on a broad front; in the Kupyansk area, having repelled Ukrainian attempts to break through to western Kupyansk, with assault units pushing west toward Shevchenkovo. In the Dobropolye area north of Krasnoarmeysk, fighting in Dobropolye and Annovka, with Lenina (Ukrainian name Mirnoye) taken and Shevchenko, Krasnoyarskoye, and Svetloye reported as liberated.

In July TASS counted 32 settlements liberated, with 22 of them — over 68 percent — in Kharkiv Region and the DPR. By battlegroup: North took ten, Center eight, West six, East five, and South three, and the month’s most significant developments were the liberation of Konstantinovka in the DPR by Battlegroup East and the capture of Belitskoye by Battlegroup Center. Konstantinovka is one of the four Donetsk fortress belt cities.

At present the Russians are driving on the last major Ukrainian-held Donetsk agglomeration — the Konstantinovka–Druzhkovka–Kramatorsk–Slavyansk belt — alongside the Sumy/Kharkiv border zone and consolidation in Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk.

Along with the ground operations in eastern Ukraine, Russia has ended Ukraine's ability to conduct maritime and trade operations from Odessa and Nikolaev since July 22nd."

👔🛫🇷🇸‼️🇷🇺📰 ZeroHedge | Zelensky To Make First-Ever Visit To Serbia, In Symbolic 'Slap In The Face' For Russia | August 7, 2026:

"Serbia is set to host Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a major first of the war which could set off serious diplomatic tensions with Russia, a longtime Serbian ally and 'friend'.

Zelensky will arrive on this first-ever trip on Saturday, August 8, according to Ukrainian officials, despite that Serbia - as a Slavic and Orthodox Christian country - has historically maintained warm ties with Moscow.

But Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has been a leader who has put a little distance between himself in Russia, for example skipping this year's Victory Day Parade in Moscow. He's also been accused of allowing Serbian arms to go to Ukraine, which he's denied.

"I believe we will discuss how and in what ways we can help each other on this issue (EU integration, ed.) and, if possible, learn something from one another," Vučić said of the upcoming visit.

"That also includes our cooperation in culture, sports, and everything else," the president added. Regional media indicated the two leaders are expected to address Ukraine's move toward EU membership, energy cooperation, as well as economic ties.

Zelensky is likely to lobby the Serbian government to take a tougher stance on Russia, for example by joining Western sanctions on Moscow.

President Vučić has consistently resisted calls to join anti-Russian international sanctions, however, stressing that the country's position on the matter will remain unchanged."

🇺🇦❗️⚠️🇷🇺⭐️ Rybar:

"Unmanned Arsenal

The recent series of attacks on Wildberries logistics centers is further evidence of the growing threat to the Russian rear. The key issue isn't the choice of targets, but the increasing number of different types of UAVs being used in the attacks. Moreover, there are more and more UAVs with both short and long ranges.

➡️ Regarding drones for attacks up to 300 km, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are filling the gap between standard FPV drones and longer-range systems, allowing them to strike warehouses, transportation hubs, oil refineries, and other facilities in the operational rear.

🔻Medium-Range Models:

▪️Fire Point FP-2. Wingspan: 6 m. Payload: up to 105 kg. Range: up to 200 km. Speed: 140–180 km/h. Manufacturer: Fire Point.

▪️Hornet. Wingspan: 2.2–2.5 m. Payload: up to 5 kg. Range: up to 150 km. Speed: 100–120 km/h. Manufacturer: Perennial Autonomy.

▪️RAM-2X. Wingspan: 2.3–2.6 m. Payload: up to 3 kg. Range: up to 150 km. Speed: up to 180 km/h. Developers: RAM UAV and CDET.

▪️"Bliskavka-2". Wingspan: 1.5 m. Payload: up to 9 kg. Range: up to 140 km. Speed: 100–120 km/h.

▪️"Begemot". Wingspan: 2.28 m. Payload: up to 75 kg. Range: up to 300 km. Speed: 170–180 km/h. Developers: Culver Aerospace and GLEFA.

🖍However, the greatest danger comes from the UAVs that the enemy uses to carry out attacks deep into Russian territory. Whereas previously there were only one or two working prototypes, in recent months, several more variations of strike UAVs have been used in what is called Ukraine.

🔻Long-Range Models:

▪️Ан-196 "Lyuty". Wingspan: 6.7 m. Payload: 50–75 kg. Range: up to 1500 km. Speed: approximately 150 km/h.

▪️UJ-26 "Bobyor". Wingspan: 2.5–3.5 m. Payload: up to 20 kg. Range: up to 1000 km. Speed: 120–150 km/h. Manufacturer: UkrJet.

🖍The speed of replenishing supplies is what determines their effectiveness. The AFU launch them by the hundreds almost daily, thanks to the expansion of production capacity. And the vast territory of Russia, which is difficult to cover completely, creates an additional advantage for Ukrainian forces.

Conventional air defense is insufficient. It is impossible to constantly expend expensive missiles on relatively cheap drones, so the basis of defense should be mass and rapidly *replenishable* means, including interceptor drones, automated turrets, electronic warfare systems, nets, and additional detection posts.

❗️And one of the key factors is the speed and adaptability to new types of weapons. The enemy is demonstrating an increasing number of different drones to overcome Russian air defense, and in the fall, more intensive use of "Flamingo" cruise missiles and FP-9 ballistic missiles is expected in what is called Ukraine.

Former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Zaluzhny: Ukraine will never join NATO
🇺🇦🚫🤝🇺🇸📰 ZeroHedge | "Promises Are Fairy Tales": NATO Will Not Accept Ukraine | August 7, 2026:

"Apparently, the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO is increasingly being dismissed as unrealistic. Even the regime’s most hardline officials seem to have lost hope regarding Kiev’s accession to the Western military alliance, considering that such a move does not serve NATO’s current strategic interests.

In a recent statement, Valery Zaluzhny – Ukraine’s current ambassador to the UK, former head of the country’s armed forces, now widely considered Zelensky’s top rival – asserted that Kiev will never join the Atlantic defense bloc. According to him, promises of membership are merely “fairy tales” that do not reflect reality.

Zaluzhny stated that he is very familiar with NATO’s internal structures and understands how the bloc actually operates. According to him, promises regarding Ukraine’s entry into the bloc are nothing new. Over the course of 12 years working alongside alliance officials, Zaluzhny says he constantly heard such promises, yet saw no particular reason to believe they would materialize now."

🇹🇷🇵🇰🇸🇦⚔️🇾🇪 The Financial Times expects, in the wake of Turkey, Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) signing the "Mecca Agreement", that all three countries will get involved in the Yemeni Civil War and fight the Houthis on KSA's side.

No mention of attacking Iran or Iranian proxies in Iraq.

📝 The clauses of this defense agreement are secret so its impossible to know what constitutes an "attack" because the criteria will vary wildly from country to country. It is expected of Turkey and Pakistan to join the Saudis if the Houthis bomb oil refineries, but will the Saudis and Turks bomb the Taliban if and when border tensions flare up between Afghanistan and Pakistan? What about a resurgence of Pakistani-Indian border tensions over Kashmir? Most likely not. Will the Turks and Pakistanis bomb Iran if Iran resumes attacking energy infrastructure after new American/Israeli attacks? Most likely not.

This alliance was rushed by the KSA to reestablish deterrence from the Houthis who resorted to bombing ARAMCO's oil refineries for the Saudis bombing an airstrip.
