Pope Francis asks DPRK for Invitation - South Korean media
The Pope has reportedly asked Pyongyang to invite him in a televised interview aired Friday by 🇰🇷 state media channel KBS, adding ‘he wound not refuse’ the chance to visit North Korea.
The papal tour - if it were to happen – would be the first of its kind to NK, which does not allow priests to live there. 🇰🇵’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion, but only if it does not undermine the State.
Earlier, ex-🇰🇷 president Moon Jae-in, a catholic, urged Pope Francis to visit Pyongyang to help build peace in the Korean Peninsula.
