Jamil Al-Meqdad in Gaza: This is the letter Shaimaa wrote to her father, Refaat Alareer, after she gave birth to her first child a month ago.

Shaimaa was Martyred today alongside her husband and her newborn child in an "israeli" airstrike.

"I have wonderful news to share with you, I wish I could convey it to you face to face. I present to you your first grandchild. Do you realize, my father, that you have become a grandfather?

Yes, my father, this is your first grandchild, Abdul Rahman, who has just turned one month old. This is your first grandchild, whom I have always imagined you holding. But I never imagined that I would lose you early, even before you could see him!"

Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor:

Summer heat exacerbates the suffering of those displaced by Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip and threatens more casualties.

For the seventh month, the suffering of the displaced is seriously worsening in light of the rapid rise in temperature and the intensification of summer temperatures, accompanied by dry weather, high humidity, and the spread of insects and rodents.

We are following with concern the spread of epidemics and diseases and the increase in the number of deaths as a result of the deliberate humanitarian disaster created by Israel, which threatens the lives of civilians, especially vulnerable groups.

Conditions are miserable in overcrowded shelters and nylon tents, which lack the basic necessities of life, not to mention the effects of malnutrition, dehydration and fear.

Scorching temperatures add to daily misery amid a severe shortage of clean water and significant environmental risks due to the lack of service facilities, the collapse of sewage systems and the accumulation of garbage.

We documented several deaths of victims of the humanitarian disaster in the camps and shelters, including two cases of an infant who died due to the severe heat wave and two cases of a child who died from complications of hepatitis.

A doctor at Abu Yousef al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah told Euromonitor that in the last four weeks, five to six cases of hepatitis A have been recorded daily at the health center.

We warn that the pathogens of disease are strong among the displaced, and their danger escalates in light of the effects of contaminated drinking water, the spread of sewage, overcrowding, lack of hygiene, and malnutrition.

Health and environmental disasters are rapidly worsening as a result of Israel's continued destructive military attacks, with serious and catastrophic repercussions on the health of the population and the general environment.

We reiterate the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the lifting of the tight closure as a collective punishment and war crime to save the lives of civilians protected under international humanitarian law and the laws of war.
