The police, attorneys and jails in Minnesota are complying unlike before, hundred+ leftists were arrested, and the rioting has turned into a blip, so the surge can subside and normal ICE operations can proceed as they have in other states.

Local immigration enforcement will continue — reinforcements are headed to other cities to provide support and pressure where needed.

When local jurisdictions cooperate, ICE can use fewer agents per arrest to carry out their duties. When local jurisdictions don't cooperate, ICE calls in back up to beat down the criminal resistance. This is necessary when working with limited resources, which is why ICE is expanding its offices and detention space into more cities.

Under President Trump, the federal government is at its smallest in employment since 1966, yet ICE has grown more than ever before. This spike does not include the thousands of agents hired in late December, 2025 and throughout January, 2026.

The largest growth occuring in the federal govt under President Trump is towards deportation enforcement and immigration investigations. President Trump's DOJ is also hiring deportation judges, recruiting military lawyers, and restricting eligibility for alien asylum and removal appeals.

The share of migrants choosing to leave the U.S. rather than continue to fight their case has hit an historic record high. Migrants detained by Trump are giving up in a way no other admin has seen in over 40 years, with the one previous record being President Trump's first term.

Before President Trump started his second term, there were only 130 police agencies cooperating with ICE, and it was in barely half of the U.S. Now, under President Trump, we are at 1,400 agencies cooperating with ICE in 40 states.

A month after the CEQ under President Trump cut away at five decades of red tape and permit rules that were restricting American infrastructure, and President Trump reset CAFE standards, the EPA has killed Obama's endangerment rule. This is the 'single largest deregulatory action in U.S. history', potentially a boon for U.S. auto and energy.

By the end of this term, every trace of Obama and his attempts of successors will be clawed back, crushed, or cowering before the legacy of Trump.

“As always, anyone in the country illegally is eligible to be deported," the White House says. "President Trump is keeping his promise to carry out the largest mass deportation operation in history." 

President Trump is developing an immigration enforcement empire. Police agreements with ICE, to deputize local law enforcement and facilitate migrant arrests and removals, have grown from 130 participating agencies to 1,400 participating in a little over a year. DHS detention capacity has already doubled—the agency is acquiring dozens of offices and warehouses to build that up further.

Practically all Law Enforcement Agencies can participate in the 287(g) ICE agreement program, to assist in mass detention and mass deportation of migrants. Under so-called deporter-in-chief Obama, whose best two fiscal years have been surpassed by Trump in a single year, there were less than 80 signed agreements with ICE and the Obama admin in 2009 immediately undermined it as a program. Trump in contrast is at over 1,400.

President Trump's DOJ is training judges to avoid granting migrants relief, saying asylum should be rare and discriminate if allowed at all. Most cases are recommended as default denials, rejections or terminations regardless of the migrant's merits.

First and second term President Trump has set historic high records for U.S. asylum denials; the asylum denial rates have soared in every way while the admin has 75 countries under a visa processing pause restricted, 39 countries travel banned or suspended and 38 countries hit with a business a pricey application bond requirement.

The vast majority of immigration cases, over 75% in this sample, under Trump are ending in removal or departure of the unwanted migrant involved.

The Trump Administration is subjecting legal immigrants to death by a thousand cuts, using visa processing restrictions and case-by-case reviews as barriers at every type of formal entry. The U.S. citizenship test has gotten longer, more difficult; dozens of nationalities are in legal limbo; while stricter photo requirements and biometric ID are being implemented, USCIS has delayed or outright canceled naturalization ceremonies and put various visa categories under investigation. Green Card access is narrowing substantially.
