WHAT IS TO BE DONE?
Our struggle is for Palestinian liberation—our struggle is not about the right to protest, nor about freedom of speech. We refuse to become wistful symbols of failed rebellions; we refuse to reminisce about what could’ve been; we will be the generation that wins; we need to be the generation that wins.
As some of the solidarity encampments begin to calm down, settling into a comfortable homeostasis with the university administration, many students are asking: what comes next? How can we apply more pressure to achieve not only divestment, but a great big leap towards Palestinian liberation?
Yesterday the Zionist entity bombed Rafah again. Over one million Palestinians, most of whom fled bombardment and Zionist aggression in the north, are trapped. A ground invasion by the IOF is imminent. This is the first time that American institutions have been gripped by the Palestinian struggle. Zionism has never been more vulnerable; our historical mission has never been clearer. We cannot let this moment go to waste.
This demands that we move beyond cooperation and co-optation. If the powers that be accept and facilitate protest, it is hollowed out and rendered useless. As Bisan Owda reminded us today: “Do not allow universities to normalize your demonstrations and claim to support them, because this seeks to buy time, mitigate the severity of the revolution you started, and circumvent your goals.”
Our responsibility is to bring the fight to the imperialists’ doorstep. Palestinians have entrusted us with using our privilege to bring the empire to its knees. We should not give people in Gaza false hope.

Today, Indiana University Bloomington sent hundreds of SWAT to raid students, targeting lead organizers. SWAT was armed with tear gas, armored vehicles, riot gear, and assault rifles. IU admin also ESCORTED SNIPERS to target students. After community support arrived, cops were pushed out of the encampment!

Students occupiers at Cal Poly Humboldt opened up "Intifada Hall" (previously "Seimens Hall") to the public after a week-long occupation, coming an hour after they rejected negotiations with the administration (Media 2).
The students refused to compromise or give into the administration's threats that they should leave by 5PM yesterday. Expecting a heightened police response, the students carried out riot shield training before opening up the building (Media 9).
The occupation continues, and the campus is closed for the remainder of the semester. Only a few students were arrested, but a number have received suspensions.
It should be noted that 50% of Cal Poly Humboldt students are considered "low income," with about 20% of its students living from inside their cars and a third of them being first generation students.
Inside Intifada Hall, President Tom Jackson's office has been redecorated. Messages of solidarity with Gaza, Yemen, and the oppressed of the world decorate the inside and outside of the building.
"I will no longer be complicit in genocide," a quote by Aaron Bushnell, is written inside.
"We are not scared of you. You can make us bloody, but we will bash back. Because we are many. We are more than you. We are everywhere.
From Goudi'ni to Weelaunee to Palestine - Fuck IDF, APD, all state puppetry. End genocide everywhere."
