π· Due rarissime immagini: in alto un bombardiere supersonico Tupolev Tu-22 Blinder "63 rosso"; 1996. Nella seconda immagine un bombardiere supersonico Tupolev Tu-22M3 Backfire "96 blu", ripreso a Boryspil nel 2002. I due bombardieri costituirono parte dell'ereditΓ sovietica confluita nell'allora neo costituita Aviazione ucraina. Un gran numero di un gran numero di Backfire (17 Tu-22M2 e 43 Tu-22M3) assieme a 423 missili Kh-22 furono demoliti nell'ambito del programma Nunn-Lugar guidato dagli Stati Uniti.

7 June 1980 Operation Sceptic: Capt IC Du Plessis landed his badly damaged Mirage F1AZ at Ruacana. The aircraft was damaged by shrapnel from an SAM fired at the aircraft during the bombing of a target. He barely made it to Ruacana. For saving the irreplaceable aircraft, rather than ejecting from it, Capt Du Plessis was awarded an Honoris Crux decoration for bravery.

A Block 42 F-16C Fighting Falcon from the 112th Fighter Squadron, part of the 180th Fighter Wing, based at Toledo, Ohio. The aircraft has colored fin markings superimposed on the Have Glass V scheme, and is seen off the wingtip of a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 121st Air Refueling Wing in Columbus, Ohio.
