B-56 (IL-28/HARBIN H-5) jet bomber of the Pakistan Air Force (1966-1969)

The Ilyushin IL-28 is a jet bomber aircraft of the immediate post war period that was originally manufactured for the Soviet Air Force. It was the USSR's first such aircraft to enter large-scale production. It was also licence-built in China as the Harbin H-5. Total production in the USSR was 6,316 aircraft, and over 319 H-5s were built.

16 (or possibly 24) Chinese built Harbin H-5 (to equip 1 squadron) were delivered to Pakistan Air Force during early 1970s and were known as B-56 bombers. These bombers did not serve long, and were eventually returned to China. Crewed by three; pilot, bombardier and gunner the aircraft could carry 3000 kg bomb load in an internal bomb bay to combat range of 2180 km.

Shenyang FT-5 of Pakistan Air Force

The Shenyang J-5 / F-5 (Jianjiji-5 - Fighter-5) is a Chinese built single-seat jet interceptor and fighter aircraft derived from the Soviet MiG-17. The J-5 was exported as the F-5 with the NATO reporting name "Fresco".
The Chinese developed F-5 into a two-seat trainer version of the MiG-17, designated the Chengdu JJ-5 (Jianjiji Jiaolianji - Fighter Trainer or FT-5), by combining the two-seat cockpit of the
MiG-15UTI, the VK-1A engine of the J-5, and the fuselage of the J-5A. All internal armament was removed and a single Nudelman-Richter NR-23 23 mm cannon was carried in a ventral pack.
Pakistan Air Force acquired FT-5s for use as advanced jet trainers / conversion aircraft.

Shenyang F-6 of Pakistan Air Force

The Shenyang J-6 (designated F-6 for export versions) was the Chinese built version of the Soviet MiG-19 "Farmer" fighter aircraft.

Although the MiG-19 had a comparatively short life in Soviet service, the Chinese came to value its agility, turning performance, and powerful cannon armament, and produced it for their own use between 1958 and 1981.

The F-6 was flown by the Pakistan Air Force from 1965 to 2002, and around 140 modifications were made to increase effectiveness in interception and close air support roles. F-6s were also modified for carriage of AIM-9B Sidewinder missiles

Pakistan Air Force F-6 fighters participated in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan, scoring approximately 6 confirmed aerial victories. These included one Indian MiG-21, which was believed by many to be a superior aircraft to the F-6 at the time.
