As England and various other countries return to near normality, the SNP seem determined to hold onto the powers that they granted themselves at the start of the COVID crisis.
It appears that Scotland is going to continue under the boot of SNP authoritarianism for some time to come.
The people of Scotland need to stand up o the SNP/Green alliance and say, enough is enough. It's time for Scotland to have our freedom returned.

On this day in 1716, Lady Winifred Maxwell, Countess of Nithsdale arranged the daring escape of her husband from the Tower of London.
In 1715, her husband Sir William Maxwell joined the Jacobite rebellion, but he was captured at the Battle of Preston and sent to the Tower of London. Having been tried for treason, he was sentenced to death. Winifred, who was at Terregles when she heard of the capture of her husband, followed him to London, making part of the journey on horseback in bitter winter weather. She presented a petition to George I which he refused to receive. Knowing that there would be no pardon, the countess laid a meticulous plan to rescue her husband from the Tower of London.
The night before the day appointed for William's execution with the help of two other Jacobite ladies, Winifred effected his escape from the Tower. She had been admitted to his room, and by exchanging clothes with her maid, he escaped the attention of his guards. He escaped to Rome and she joined him later.

An arrest warrant has been issued for takeaway driver, Abdul Samad after he sexually assaulted a woman in Glasgow.
Samad, 39 lied to the 20-year-old woman, convincing her he was a taxi driver and then assaulted her. Samad already has a previous conviction of assault to injury from 2009.
This is one of many cases of how White women are treated in their own nation by foreigners. It is disgusting that this government calls these people 'just as Scottish as you'.

On this day in 1303 the Battle of Roslin took place in Midlothian. A Scots army defeated an English reconnaissance force.
An Anglo-Scottish truce expired on 30 November 1302, and the English prepared for a fresh invasion of Scotland, with John Segrave as the king's lieutenant in Scotland. King Edward I ordered Segrave to carry out a large-scale reconnaissance as far as Kirkintilloch, before the king himself fought a larger campaign. This force assembled at Wark on Tweed and moved north.
The English advanced in three divisions, harassed by the Scots. At night, they camped in three divisions, several miles apart. The two commanders, John Comyn and Simon Fraser, led a Scots force on a night march, fell on the English, capturing Segrave and several others. Robert Neville led his division towards the action. The English eventually freed Segrave, but the English paymaster Manton was killed.

Over 535,000 people are on hospital waiting lists in Scotland with many waiting over a year for routine surgery. One in ten of the Scottish population are now on a waiting list.
Doctors say they have seen loss of life due to these waiting lists and cannot see them bring cleared any time in the near future.
Though COVID has undoubtedly had an effect, the main issue is yet again mismanagement by the SNP government. When they took over the management of the health service it was in fine health. Since then, they have run the service down with a massive amount of understaffing - an issue that is causing many exhausted doctors and nurses to leave the service, making the problem even worse.
The SNP claim they are moving to fix the issues, but we have heard this rhetoric over and over from them and the situation with the health service just continues to get worse. Time for the SNP to go.

In 2018 the SNP passed into law the Islands Act, an act that was supposed to help and support the unique needs of the Island communities of Scotland.
It appears that, with their failure to run a proper ferry service, the Scottish government is breaching its own laws.
The islands are struggling, with some not seeing food deliveries for up to 8 days at a time due to the lack of ferry services. The islands are being badly treated by CalMac, and it seems the SNP talk a lot about helping and developing the islands but in reality do not care about their future.
The people of Scotland's islands deserve far better than this.

On this day in 1638 the National covenant was signed.
The National Covenant (Scottish Gaelic: An CΓΉmhnant NΓ iseanta) was an agreement signed by the people of Scotland in 1638 in opposition to the proposed reforms of the Church of Scotland (also known as The Kirk) by King Charles I. The king's efforts to impose changes on the church in the 1630s caused widespread protests across Scotland, leading to the organisation of committees to coordinate opposition to the king. Facing royal opposition to the movement, its leaders arranged the creation of the National Covenant, which was designed to bolster the movement by tapping into patriotic fervour and became widely adopted throughout most of Scotland.
The Covenant opposed changes to the Church of Scotland, and committed its signatories to stand together in the defence of the nation's religion. Charles saw this as an act of rebellion against his rule, leading to the Bishops' Wars, the result of which required him to call an English Parliament.

Early this morning, a few activists from PA Scotland North East met up on the beach for a bit of physical training on the sandy surface. As nationalists, we believe that training the body as well as training the mind are important factors toward making ourselves better people.
The fresh breeze from the sea and the cold sand underfoot added an extra edge to today's cardio session and the team decided to head off for a well deserved breakfast and some PA banter afterwards.

Sturgeon could be facing a revolt within her own party over her attempts to pass the gender recognition bill.
It appears that 10+ SNP MSPs are demanding a free vote on the bill, some saying it is a matter of conscience and others raising other issues like women's rights. The issue is so emotive that it may lead to further splits within the SNP in the future.
Sturgeon has made this the most important piece of legislation for her party and will seek to crush any dissent over it.
The gender recognition bill is a piece of legislation that can cause nothing but damage to this country and its young people. It should be opposed with all the means at our disposal. If the SNP/Green alliance manage to pass the legislation, which sadly is most likely to happen, we must work to make sure that they are punished at the polls for this.

On this day in 1546 George Wishart was burned at the stake in St Andrews, Fife as a heretic.
Wishart was a Scottish Protestant Reformer. He was educated at the University of Aberdeen (then recently founded) and travelled afterwards on the Continent. It is thought that it was while he was abroad that he first turned attention to the study of the Reformed doctrines. He returned to Scotland after teaching in England. He preached to the people with much acceptance at Montrose, Dundee, and throughout Ayrshire.
On passing east to the Lothians, Wishart, who spoke latterly as in near prospect of death, was apprehended by Bothwell in the house of Cockburn, of Ormiston. He was carried captive to St Andrews, where he was tried by a clerical Assembly, found guilty, and condemned as an obstinate heretic. The following day he was executed at the stake on Castle Green, his persecutor, Cardinal David Beaton, looking on the scene from the windows of the castle, where he himself would be assassinated within three months.
