In plotting the overall recidivism rates we find that the five-year rate is 21.45%, 35%, 48%, 55.3%, and 60.2%. In contrast, the recidivism rates for ordinary crime in Israel are 18%, 27.9%, 34.1%, 37.9%, and 41.3%
For each additional prior security offence incarceration, the five-year recidivism rates increase significantly, to 50%, 67% and 94%, respectively (see Fig. 2).
First-timers, or offenders that were only incarcerated once for security o enses, represented the majority of cases in the data (61.1%). Proportional hazards regression was used to assess how the different risk factors affected the odds of a released first-time security prisoner to be a recidivist for another terrorism-related o ense (see Table 3). Similarly, longer sentence length decreased the likelihood of security offending by similar odds (PH = .97, p < 0.0001). Terrorist group affliation had a large and significant effect in increasing the likelihood of security recidivism.
That is, for offenders who had known affliations with one of the primary terrorist groups (Fatah and Hamas), there is a 319% increase in the likelihood to be a recidivist compared to unaffliated offenders.

De fleste som dømmes til lengre fengselsstraffer i Norge soner mesteparten av straffen i et høysikkerhetsfengsel. De innsatte fa r i liten grad anledning til a forlate fengselet. Langt pa vei mister de muligheten til a ivareta sine interesser utenfor fengselet. Skal de opprettholde kontak- ten med familie, er de avhengig av at familiemedlemmene vil besøke dem i fengselet. Av hen- syn til sikkerheten, er adgangen til a bruke telefon og tilgang til internett svært begrenset. En lengre frihetsstraff betyr altsa en omfattende isolasjon fra omverdenen.
Most people who are sentenced to longer prison sentences in Norway serve most of their sentences in a high-security prison. The inmates are rarely allowed to leave the prison. In the long run, they lose the opportunity to look after their interests outside the prison. If they are to maintain contact with family, they are dependent on family members visiting them in prison. For reasons of security, access to the telephone and access to the internet is very limited. A longer custodial sentence therefore means extensive isolation from the outside world.
Well, this is perfectly normal.
It would be like allowing Breivik to get access to phone and internet. The disaster from that would be much worse ...

Parole is A NO GO AT ALL! about more money to send letters too ... such prisoners are already huge expensive ... and letters are the goal to spread propaganda / criminality or sending "encrypted messages"
About gaming, well yes and no. Our first answer would be "NO, at all", it's your fault ... and this is what we wrote too
But let we think that with a prisoner mind. Now let we consider they have no Playstation 2 at all.
It would be pretty shitty. We have no problem to live in a 3x3 room for 18 hours each day ... if there is something we can do (internet, watching movies, etc.). If all such things are not available, well, then it's really pretty shitty! even if you are a criminal and you know you will not get a death sentence, because in 🇪🇺 is not available. You would remain in such room without doing nothing 24/24 365/365 for 80 years ... Obviously that suicides are high in prison ...
About Breivik is not really clear how how it looks in 2023 ... but at least he had Playstation 2 (when he complained about human rights). If he can use computer without internet in 2023 is not clear, but probably yes ... no matter what, a computer without internet is pretty useless, if you cannot watch movies ... or you are not a writer ...

A Japanese cannibal who admitted to killing a woman in Paris and then defiling and eating her body, without ever serving a prison sentence for his crimes, has died, his brother confirmed on Thursday.
When he was arrested by French authorities, examining doctors declared him legally insane and unfit to stand trial, thereby leading authorities to deport him to Japan.
In Paris, he lured sex workers to his home almost every night but failed to kill anyone, until he met his Dutch classmate Renée Hartevelt.
