The error of Orthodoxy is the error of tying religion and State too strongly. I would say this is based if Putin said it as a secular leader, but for the head of the Russian Church to say this is folly, for Christ has always taught that abortion is murder and that none must approve of such horrific acts under ANY circumstances. Rather than merely endorsing a new law to reduce abortion gradually with the intent to completely outlaw it long-term, he copies the new abortion reform into the Church's teachings, wiping away its traditional belief.

This is tragic.
