"Tommy has been welcomed by Irish people (especially indigenous Irish)."

There are only indigenous Irish people, Tommy. They're called Irish people.

Open-borders activist Stephen Bedford (36) charged with dangerous driving.

Bedford claims protesters threw themselves in front of his car purposely at the Five Lamps junction in Dublin yesterday where one man was injured and was brought to hospital by ambulance.

Virgin Media lead the item with Bedford's statement to the court which accused protesters opposed to the government's immigration policies of "inciting hatred on the streets of Dublin" while calling them "akin to the Ku Klux Klan".

Virgin Media neglected to mention the nature of Bedford's "strong political and moral beliefs" which is the support for an Ireland without any border control.

On Thursday evening, over 70 people gathered in Tuam to voice their opposition to the Direct Provision centre planned to open on the grounds of the Mercy Secondary School, situated just outside the town centre.

Locals of all ages attended to find out more information and discuss issues around the opening of the centre. Reporters from the Tuam Herald were in attendance. Independent candidate for East Galway, David Oโ€™Reilly, addressed the crowd.

Points made by speakers included the unsuitability of the proposed site as well as opposition to broader government policy on migration and the forecast by senior civil servants that Ireland is set to be accommodating 180,000 people seeking refuge by the end of the year.

A decision was made to form a committee with an aim to liaise with TDs, Councillors and other relevant groups on behalf of the local community, organise future protests and meetings, and distribute information on further developments in Tuam.

RTร‰ were doing damage control for the asylum industry on last night's Prime Time. Here's the full segment. Some commentary below.

RTร‰ Prime Time: Excuses for undocumented asylum seekers misses key area of Government concern

>Nothing of this type of travel pass abuse was mentioned on Primetime. Helen McEntee's suspension of the travel pass agreement is the only major policy attempt taken by Government to stop abuse of the asylum system in the last year. Ireland had signed up to this agreement in 1969. The government understood that the abuse was was so great, they suspended an agreement which has been in place for 53 years.

Organisers are claiming 50,000 people attended the NGO led 'Ireland For All' rally today in Dublin which was the figure picked up and published by RTร‰. The organisers wouldn't lie, would they?

Their reporter on the ground during the rally tweeted he was told by organisers that 15,000 people were participating. Twenty minutes later that figure had been inflated to 50,000. Maybe he's new to covering protests and couldn't perform his own estimate or ask a garda their opinion.

Above I've included streetcam footage of the entire rally marching past the GPO. My rough estimate is a count of 5k to 7k. You can do your own. A colleague of mine asked a garda who was on duty and his estimate was 6k.

If organisers said the figure was 10k, I might stretch to give them and our national broadcaster the benefit of the doubt but the 50k figure is complete disinformation.

The second video above was taken just before Boyd Barrett spoke. The last photo shows what 50k people actually looks like.
