ARE YOU CONSIDERING TAKING LEAVE AFTER 1 DECEMBER 2021?
Here is some information to provide clarity for employees facing jab mandates:

The Fair Work Commission has information on their site which explains what entitlements employees can and cannot access.

If employees do not follow lawful government directions, employers are allowed to stand down employees without pay. However, the employer must follow a checklist and must be reasonable.

By agreement, the employee is entitled to take annual leave and/or long service leave (even at half pay if agreed) after 1 December 2021. The employer cannot unreasonably deny this request if the employee has such leave entitlements. The employer is allowed to deny paid sick leave and carer’s leave if taken during a stand down.

Employees who are stood down are still employed during that time and are entitled to paid public holidays that fall during the stand down period, eg. Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day.

Termination (different to being stood down) of employment may amount to an unfair dismissal. An employee has 21 days to lodge an unfair dismissal claim with the Fair Work Commission. Please read the FWC site and become familiar with your employment rights regarding leave entitlements during a stand down. πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

EDUCATE, EDUCATE, EDUCATE!

As you will all be aware many of our friends, family and colleagues are suffering from cognitive dissonance or just hypnotised by the one sided narrative being given by the media.

The most important tool we have is education. This also applies to our employers. We need to break through this stronghold with information to break the pattern. Often the best tools for this are the government's own documents. Please ensure that your employers, medics and doctors etc are seeing the following documents. They need to see that liability is being placed back on them to report adverse reactions and obtain fully informed consent etc.

Consider printing some of these documents and circulating them around the workplace if you are unable to send directly for privacy reasons. Highlight areas of interest, especially to those involved in medical management on or off site dealing directly with vaccinations or medical treatment. We all know there have been adverse reactions. Let's let make them aware of their obligations!

Preparing for temporary unemployment #holdtheline

Reality is some of us may be facing unemployment whilst we continue to stand up for our freedoms. Does not hurt to be prepared, though we do sense a victory it may be a while away.

We know times may get tough for some of you so a wonderful fellow member has put together a budget calculator (attached to next post) to help you manage through it.

Hints on saving money:
β€’  Check you’re not paying any bank fees – If you are, ask your bank why. If they won’t help you, change banks. There are fee free banks.
β€’  Is that cup of coffee really worth it every day? It does add up.
β€’  Cook larger meals and take leftovers for lunch – saves on buying lunch.
β€’  If you are not using subscriptions, cancel them. If you are without an income for a bit, cancel them too.
β€’  Reduce your phone/internet plan if you can.
β€’  Check your plans for electricity/gas – are there cheaper ones.
β€’  Review your insurances for cars/home etc.
β€’  Spring clean and list unused things on buy/swap sites.
β€’  When shopping, consider going without the luxuries. Can you shop elsewhere for cheaper etc. Aldi vs Woolies.

If you are without income:

Have a mortgage or a personal loan or a credit card? Ring your bank and ask them if you have loan insurance. This usually has a component of income protection for approx. 4 mths, where it covers your home loan repayments.
Switch to a balance transfer credit card, some give 36 months interest free.

This insurance would have been set up by your bank when you took out your loan (don’t confuse this with mortgage insurance if you borrowed over 80%). If in doubt, ring your bank and ask. Also, this insurance has TPD (same as your super), so if you are claiming workers compensation, this also may help with an income. This type of insurance was only offered prior to the Royal Commission.

If you were referred to a financial planner when you took out your home loan, they may have also set you up with some insurance. You would likely remember doing this, as it usually cost a bit of money to do.

Also, you can ring your bank and notify them of hardship. They will refer you to their Hardship team to assist you with making payments. They can also amend repayment amounts temporarily too. They are REQUIRED to assist you.

If you don’t have insurance, ask your bank if you can swap to an interest only repayment for a while. It won’t reduce your loan amount but will reduce your loan repayment while you are without an income or on a reduced income.

If you are salary sacrificing to Super, review this.

Check your Super to see if you set up Income Protection when you joined. This usually is a payment of (usually) 75% of your income for a period of time – however is usually only for injuries, not loss of employment. Worth a phone call to confirm. You can also usually check with your Super fund online and under insurances.

Can you suggest any more ways to save money? πŸ‘‡πŸΌ
Expenses Calculator.xls

Attached is a budget to guide you through managing your expenses.

You can add in other descriptions or change the ones there to suit, then select the frequency. The template is colour coded to assist you with transferring money into each account as you get paid. The amount will be monthly, however, if you are paid fortnight (divide by 26) or weekly (divide by 52). If you are savvy with Excel, you will notice the cells are using sums to calculate.

Bills – this account is for direct debits and consistent expenses.

Groceries – this is what you have to spend for your pay interval (food/fuel/sport etc)

Splurge – this is for your own little luxuries – aim for no more than $100/fn in order to save.

Xmas/Holidays – Self explanatory
Loans – these are for all of your debts

Purple – This account is for β€˜other’ expenses but are less frequent in nature.

Extinguisher – the name says it all. Aim for $7k, as this will act as a really good buffer for emergencies such as appliances, time of work for illness etc.

Lest we forget.
After a bit of back and forth over the location, and due consideration of positives and cautions for both, we are happy to announce the World Wide Rally for Freedom at FORREST PLACE in Perth on November 20.
