3 year anniversary of the WA Parliament House protest against the mandates

It's amazing to think this was only 3 years ago, given so much has happened in this country since December 1st, 2021.

On that day, the area in front of the Parliament House of WA was full to the brim of mostly blue collar workers and public servants, who had been put out of work by their own Government because of their medical choice. They covered the steps with the uniforms they once wore so proudly.

That defiant stand made by the workers of Western Australia will never be forgotten. It was historic, and a line in the sand that still resonates today. In my view, it was the birth of a new Union movement, demanding the most basic of employment rights.

To MC such an event was a burden of responsibility that weighed so heavily I didn't sleep a wink the night before. When I arrived to Parliament House, the emotional atmosphere was like no other I had experienced at previous protests. There was anger, there was sadness, there was raw energy.

I can only hope my contributions on the day struck a correct tone with those in attendance. As it's you who bravely chose to #HoldTheLine at massive financial cost, and all victims of medical coercion, who I still fight for today.

UNDERGROUND MINER SPITS IMPROMPTU FIRE: "TRUST YOUR GUT"

Some of the most powerful speeches at the December 1st, 2021 protest against the mandates were from stood down workers who requested to speak on the day.

Aiden had been an underground miner for 15+ years, before the WA Government took his career away due to his medical choice. He took to the microphone despite "not being used to public speaking."

Bravely standing in front of WA's Parliament House, Aiden's speech was right on point, and still resonates loudly 3 years on.
