The following information has been brought to the attention of the admin of this group.

Expressions of interest are being sought to join in on a judicial review that has been lodged on behalf of the WA Police in the Supreme Court. This is something that will be happening in the immediate future and is being opened up to other industries to jump on board. Details sent to us so far are as follows:

Dear all,

We know a lot of you have an appetite for local legal action here in WA, as most seems to be happening over east.

We are considering following what a group of WA Police have done, through their legal team, commenced an application for judicial review in the Supreme Court of Western Australia against the Chief Health Officer (CHO) and the State of Western Australia. The application seeks orders striking down the CHO’s directions that mandate that all WA Police must have a COVID-19 vaccine by 1 December 2021. SO IT BEGINS!

As for the “joint action” we have sought clarification and it is as follows:
The argument against the CHO and subsequent directions are essentially the same however each industry (plaintiff) would be different in its own way. So if our members are interested, the following needs to happen (urgently).

- Finalise numbers and nominate ONE person to be the named “lead” plaintiff. This lead plaintiff would preferably have no assets (in the event it all turns bad).

- We need to raise 10k (minimum) into a nominated bank account. (Eg. $50 x 200 = $10k, but the more that contribute, the cheaper it will be for all.)

Basically, because the good ‘ole cops paid a lot in the early stages, the initial leg work is now done, so our groups 10k gets us straight “into the game”. Once in, the total bill for the challenge can then be split so it goes without saying that the more the merrier, although hopefully gofundme pays for all/most/some…

Note: The above is ONLY in relation to the judicial review process through the Supreme Court. Hotchkin Hanly can no doubt also assist you with industrial relations matters however that would be completely separate and bear its own separate costs….

This action is completely separate from actions started by AdvocateMe and Maatouk's Law Group, and the Broomhill actions.

WA CONSTRUCTION WORKERS - HOLD THE LINE

Yesterday, a Public Health Order mandating the jab for building and construction workers was signed into effect by the Chief Health Officer Dr Andrew Robertson, with the Order uploaded onto the WA Government website today. The wording of the direction is as follows:

"from 12.01 am on 1 January 2022, a person who is a building and construction worker must not enter, or remain at, a building and construction site if the building and construction worker has not been partially vaccinated against COVID-19."

We urge all construction workers to hold the line, and to stand in solidarity with others at tomorrow's event at Parliament House, starting at 10am.

United Services invite everyone to a little gathering outside Dumas house after the formalities of Parliament House.

🔹Bring portable gazebo, deck chairs, esky with drinks (non-alcoholic), games (cricket, frisbee, football, soccer etc), bluetooth speakers for music, a portable BBQ and food if you wish.

🔹 Bring signs if you wish that are relevant to the mandate/not being able to work. E.g. "We want to and are willing to work today but we can't - thanks WA government".

What a sad day for our industry and this country.
We salute you all for chosing to do what is right in your heart, even if it's difficult for a little while.
You are never alone.
You are brave.
You are strong.
You saying no, will bring humanity back to a free new world.

TODAY'S WEST AUSTRALIAN NEWSPAPER PROTEST COVERAGE (pages 8 & 9)

Thank you to all who attended yesterday's WA Parliament House protest in such great numbers. Everyone is to be commended for how they conducted themselves, given their justifiable anger at the Government. We thank the WA Police for respectfully keeping the peace throughout the day, in difficult circumstances.

A massive thank you to all the speakers on the day too, you were note perfect. Michael, Bram, Andrea Tokaji, Jordan McDonald, "Syrian Girl," Peter Harris, and the Hon. Sophia Moermond MLC were all fantastic, as were the couple of other individuals who put themselves forward on the day to speak, and the musician Dave for signing off the event with a couple of tunes.

Whilst yesterday may have been "deadline day," the fight must, and will, go on. This isn't over by a long stretch, and we are on the right side of history - never forget that. Keep an eye on our channel for further updates.
