We are excited to announce the Elrond MainNet bootstrapping process

Through this process we will address functionality, security, performance, and gradual decentralization in a logical order via 3 dedicated steps:

Phase 1 - tackle network security from an economical perspective
Phase 2 - deploy the code on trusted validator set, enabling progressive feature activation
Phase 3 - decentralization to the point where Elrond only operates a minimum fall-back infrastructure

Phase 1 - Start staking, earn rewards, and reach economic security threshold

- 23-29 December
- 17%-32% rewards annually
- we are aiming for 50% of circulating supply or 5 Billion ERD to be committed and pre-staked

In preparation for the staking event, we will be swapping ERD tokens from BEP2 to ERC20.

ERD BEP2 tokens will be burnt periodically on the Binance Chain and minted in the exact same amount on Ethereum.

You can follow these actions by carefully checking our BEP2 token address, ERC20 token address.

1/ The Elrond team is still in office, pushing everything to kickstart the staking program 🛠️
We are making good progress on all fronts, so here's a short status update on where we stand 👇

2/ The staking smart contract has been written and is currently reviewed
In fact, given the importance & risk of this smart contract, we are doing 3 security audits at the same time

3/ The first audit is done, with feedback being implemented right now
The second audit is taking a bit longer, expected to be done & with feedback implemented on Wednessday
The third audit will be done on Thursday

4/ Given the aggressive schedule we are working on, it's very hard to get these audits done as fast as we'd like, especially during Christmas time
In addition to the security audits, a new staking page & how to guides are also being prepared

5/ Here's a summary of @ElrondNetwork Phase 1 staking details:

Time: Phase 1 will begin as soon as audits are done
Rewards: for securing the network are 17% - 32% annualized
Goal: to stake is 50% of circulation supply

Short update on Elrond prestaking

1/ Impressed with the energy & effort the Elrond team puts into delivering a great technology that users love
Though most ppl around the world are on Holidays, at Elrond the last few days have been about finishing things for the prestaking launch

2/ The great news is that all 3 audits are basically done, with no major flaws detected & minor feedback being processed and implemented today. The new staking page we've been building is also shaping up quite nicely, with details being reiterated for clarity

3/ Tonight we'll start the process of putting everything together, and doing a final phase of heavy end-to-end testing. Guides and explainer materials will also be in place by tomorrow

4/ Will have another update coming tomorrow, based on complete integration and testing. Oh, and did I mention anything about the nice surprise we've been preparing?

Will hopefully have it ready to roll out with the prestaking phase

5/ The days are long, but the years are short. There is an intense team effort directed at making steady progress, and overcoming day to day obstacles

6/ And while most small improvements go unnoticed, they rapidly add up. Zooming out for a sec, it's incredible to see what Elrond has achieved in only 2 years

7/ Building a blockchain from scratch to scale 1000x better than BTC or ETH is remarkable

Doing it on an aggressive schedule, and arguably outexecuting competing teams from Silicon Valley and China on 100-1000x less budget, now that's an unmistakable signal among an ocean of noise

8/ If you can read code, the tech is there and open source

If you can't read code, drop by chat to the community

There are hundreds of people from around the world cheering for Elrond and supporting us on all fronts
