The problem with the media selectively reporting events is that it warps and twists our cultural memory to give an inaccurate record of our civilization in a given period. People will argue this has always been the case and to an extent I agree, yet we know of the Miner's Strikes in Britain, or the mass protests against Blair's Iraq war.

But the Canadian Trucker rebellion will likely simply disappear over time, it will not become a historical part of 2022 in the way that Occupy Wall street is forever linked to 2011.

The collective western memory will have baffling holes in it, half formed narratives and incomprehensible public responses from the perspective of somebody watching a nostalgic ''Remember The Year ****'' because any counter narratives to the elite program will have been airbrushed out.

The astroturf of the future will only report on the astroturf of today, adding an extra layer of in-authenticity to the lives of the future masses.
