Reading this article by @Aureus_Press, I suddenly understood why the Bezos/Branson space flights were so uninspiring, why they felt like a waste of time and money: it's because no sane person really believed that Jeff Bezos was in any actual danger on that flight. No doubt it wasn't quite as certain as a regular aeroplane flight, but the idea that men like Bezos and Branson would take any great risks with their personal safety is laughable. Thus, they were not brave men charting new frontiers; they were more like babies being pampered through the stratosphere, no doubt smiling gormlessly all the way.

In short, the enterprise was not heroic. In fact it was the very opposite of heroic: it was safety. Space flight, at the level that these billionaires were doing it, has been perfected and streamlined and become just another consumer product - still very expensive so confined to the mega-rich for now, but eventually people much less wealthy will be able to indulge in it, and larp as heroes, like thots on Onlyfans larping as wives.

This could be fun, but it could never be inspiring. And, like Onlyfans, it could only ever be basically a waste of money.

It's about 6 months since I first refused to get vaccinated and I'm still here, all is well, fine and dandy. Given that we're being told the vaccines only work for 6 months anyway I can't see a single advantage in my having been vaccinated 6 months ago except that I would have now had a load of that spike crap in my body.

The status of what constitutes ''fully vaccinated'' is about to include having had a booster within 6 months, so even the people who got vaccinated 6 months ago are now dropping back into the same lowly category as me.

The situation is completely absurd, if it continues, this time next year the people who were offered their first vaccine the same time as me will be in line for their sixth(!) injection.

In other words I could decide next year to finally get vaccinated (I won't) and be just as vaccinated as people who've had 6 vaccines injected into them and spent 18 months on the merry-go-round.
