"One does not simply walk to the Far Lands" was added recently as a splash screen to commemorate the achievement of the YouTuber KurtJMac that last month went to the Far lands just by walking.

More context: On October 4 after 14 years, YouTuber KurtJMac reached the edge of the world, a glitch known as the Far Lands. He began in March 2011 after Notch, the original game creator, said that the Far Lands would be impossible to reach.

Hytale, a game devolped by the Hypixel Studios (they own the Minecraft server Hypixel), will be released in early access on January 13.

This game was announced almost 10 years ago, but after a lot of problems with the development it will be finally available on December 13 for 20 dollars for the standard edition of the game.

Hytale, a game announced almost 10 years ago and after a lot of development issues, will be finally available for early access on January 13. Even though this game is not developed by Mojang (Hypixel Studios, the same studio behind the famous Minecraft server Hypixel), this is still an important news for the Minecraft community because this could be the first real competitor for the game and this could push Microsoft to make Minecraft even better to just keep up.

Since the game was recently reacquired by the original creator Simon, there wasn't any time to make a port for other platforms, so it will be available for purchase only on PC starting from December 13 and it will cost only 20€ (same price as Minecraft Java and Bedrock on Windows). We will cover news for both games from now on.

It has a sandbox structure like Minecraft (crafting and inventory aspects), but it is more visually impactful and has some mechanics taken from other games (for example Zelda: Breath of the Wild). You have the options to use anytime an in-game map of the world, you have climbing and rolling abilities and you have also a stamina bar that decreases by attacking, sprinting or breaking that can replenish by doing nothing for some time.

New Version Numbering System for Minecraft

Starting from 2026, version numbering in Java and Bedrock will be tied to the release year and as you can see from the example based on 2025 drops the system between game editions will differ slightly.
