- 🇫🇷 The aftershocks of colonialism
Currently, riots are taking place in France between the native population and non-Western immigrants.
The native French population is visibly upset at the state of its cities, which have been flooded by African migrants over the past 20 years.
This is of course understandable; no person would like to see their home country lose its native identity and be transformed into a crime ridden place with no laws or respect for its national customs.
However, it is important to remember that it was in fact the French government itself which was responsible for the mass influx of refugees in the first place.
Due to years of brutal colonialism, exploitation and looting of African nations, the French state has sealed its fate forever, and wasted its last chance at being an ethnically homogenous nation.
It was the very foreign policy implemented by the French government which led to the impoverishment and hopelesness of Africans across the continent, who now search for a better life in the country that used to be their colonial motherland.
If the citizens of France have anyone to blame for this mess, it is their own government, and nobody else.
However, no right-wing party or even any far-right party can solve this issue.
Non-Whites living in France have parabolically higher birth rates, due to cultural and economic differences with the autochtonous population.
No matter what happens, France is now a multicultural nation, and even in time, nothing will change.
People will argue "it was not colonialism which led to this, it was the EU policies of mass migration".
However, other European countries that never (or barely) participated in mass colonialism don't have the same issues as countries like France, UK, Belgium etc.
Look at countries like Hungary, the Czech Republic, Finland, Denmark and Poland.
Other factors play a role, including migration policy, especially in recent years. However, the aftershocks of the collapse of France's colonial empire cannot be denied.
