An Iranian source says America has agreed to a partial Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon as a ‘goodwill gesture’.

– Talks between the delegations have ended for now, and our main delegation has completed its work.

– Technical teams will continue discussions throughout the night, focused on a variety of issues including Iran’s frozen assets and the necessity of issuing sanctions waivers on Iranian oil and petrochemicals.

– Quadrilateral talks tonight focused mainly on the situation in Lebanon, and this situation must be solved before final negotiations start.

– A mechanism for safe passage has been established for the Strait of Hormuz, which is an important matter.

– A mechanism for monitoring the ceasefire in Lebanon was established.

– After Trump’s threatening statements earlier today, the Iranian delegation announced their ‘unwillingness to continue’ in the quadrilateral format, so talks proceeded in a different format.

There are many things I could criticize from tonight’s events.

Most importantly that the Strait of Hormuz never really got closed (it’s open right now) and the whole ‘walk out’ of the venue was also for show.

But I truly don’t have the energy. I think you all understand the point.

The main good thing that came from tonight is a ‘de-confliction cell’ for monitoring the ceasefire in Lebanon.

The ceasefire which, surprisingly, has held for almost 36 hours—finally.
