The revelations, primarily from ultra-Orthodox communities, detail systematic abuse of children as young as five, allegedly implicating Jewish religious leaders, educators, police officers, and even current and former Knesset members.

Victims recounted gruesome details of torture and rape, often by groups and sometimes by their own parents, incorporating 'ritualistic and religious elements.' Other accounts included child trafficking and the filming of these acts.

Accusers and activists have noted a 'systemic indifference' to such cases and the reported involvement of powerful individuals, including a Likud MK under police investigation for rape who was appointed to a powerful committee.

Such cases of 'ritual sexual abuse' have been reported in Israel time and time again.
