Photos of the meeting showed Salam's cold and lukewarm reception of the Iranian official.

Unacceptable disrespectful, even worse than the Lebanese Foreign Minister's statement saying that even if he had time he wouldn't want to meet Larinjani.

Not once had Lebanon did so to any foreign official, even if the height of Hezbullah's political power and support.

Not once was a Gulf, American, or European official treated such. Not once did they cut ties with them, stop airlines, extra search them and so on.

They claimed that Larijani's comment was disrespectful, and subsequently also claimed that Larijani had in fact requested a meeting with the Lebanese Foreign Minister, but that it was rejected.

In response, Iran strategically 'leaked' the official document in which the planning of today's visit was outlined between the Iranian and Lebanese governments. The document clearly shows Iran never requested a meeting with the Lebanese FM in the first place.
