Notepad with Tabs is now available to Windows 11 Insiders. Participants of the Windows Insider program in the Dev channel now receive a new version of the app 11.2212.33.0, that features a tabbed user interface. It allows the user to create, manage and organize multiple files in a single Notepad window. In the application settings, you can specify whether files will open in new tabs or in new windows by default.
Microsoft is working on a new Volume Mixer flyout for Windows 11 that allows directly adjusting the sound volume level for each of the apps individually. It reminds of the popular EarTrumpet app, but is integrated in the Quick Access feature.
Microsoft continues to refresh the appearance of aged dialogs in Windows 11. Some of them have not changed since Windows 8, some retain their look from Windows 10. The company's goal is to make the newest OS look consistent by following its Fluent Design guidelines.

In Windows 11 Build 25281 you will find an updated "Enter a product key" dialog. As you could expect, it now properly supports the light and dark themes built into Windows 11, and no longer screams with the background filled with your accent color. The lines are clearly visible and corners are now rounded, like in other places of the OS UI.

Commands to enable it:

c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:36390579
c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:42733866
File Explorer on Windows 11 is getting a new address bar. It includes a built-in OneDrive button. It also support editing mode (2nd image) that allows you to type paths. WIP, can't be enabled yet. Via FireCube
Microsoft was working on several Start menu prototypes. It could have a better organized Tiles, could have a panel with one-click access to various Windows features and folders. Unfortunately, everything was thrown out of the code or left as a concept. https://winaero.com/these-are-unreleased-start-menu-designs-with-3d-tiles/
Microsoft is working on enabling ReFS in the OS setup program, so Windows 11 will be able to use such a drive for storing its system files and run from it. The feature is currently a work-in-progress and is hidden. However, enthusiasts have found a way to activate it, and even managed to install Windows 11 on ReFS.
Microsoft is testing a new "Split screen" feature in the Edge browser. It allows you to open two tabs in split screen mode in a single browser window. Currently, this new feature is under testing in the Canary branch of Edge. Also, you need to enable the flag edge://flags/#edge-split-screen to access it.

Note: As of this very moment, you need to be running the latest Canary build of Edge. I am running version 111.0.1639.0

В последней Dev сборке 25281 появилась возможность установки Windows 11 под ReFS!

На данный момент возможность скрыта, но может быть включена через ViveTool:

vivetool /enable /id:42189933 /store:both

По всей видимости, уже в ближайших Dev сборках Microsoft анонсирует данную возможность уже официально.

За находку и демонстрацию благодарим пользователя с ником @XenoPanther!

Here's how File Explorer will change in the near future. The window title will get a modern address bar, an updated search field, and an updated toolbar with a new home button. The Copy/Cut/Paste buttons, and everything else that Windows 11 File Explorer's toolbar currently hosts, will appear in a dedicated area above the file view, right below the address bar.

The address bar is now bigger, has Mica/Fluent Design effects and looks integrated with the title bar. The path breadcrumbs are also much bigger and touch friendly.

The redesigned home page will have better integration with Microsoft 365 services, with a Featured section at the top with larger preview thumbnails.
Snipping Tool update adds the ability to pause video recording and more. The changes are coming with Snipping Tool 11.2212.24.0. If you start a new video capture, you will notice a pause button next to the stop red box.
The user interface of the app has got a few more refinements. First of all, the main toolbar buttons no longer have text labels for the screenshot and video buttons. Also, the built-in color dialog for the screenshot border lost its advanced options. There's no more manual color input; only the trackbar and visual color selection area are available.
Windows 11 Build 25284 brings with it the first third-party widget "Messenger". The Widget is made by Meta, the company behind Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram. To try it out, go to the Microsoft Store, update the app to the latest version, open the widget panel, and pin the Messenger widget to it. Developers can create their own widgets with Windows App SDK 1.2.
Windows 11 will soon allow reinstalling the installed build from Windows Update. Currently, the feature is hidden. It is a work-in-progress, so Microsoft didn't include it in the official change log. Dubbed as "Fix problems using Windows Update", it will allow you to reinstall the currently installed build without an installation media. It will perform in-place upgrade using files from Windows Update.

You can activate the item shown in the screenshot with the following ViVeTool command:

c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:42550315

But the item itself does nothing as of now.
Microsoft has released its a new optional "Preview" patch KB5022360 for stable Windows 11 version 22H2. The update raises the OS version to build 22621.1194 and comes with several fixes. It resolves issues with search indexer, including image search from the taskbar. Also, it fixes a bug that makes the PC enter sleep mode when a game controller is connected.
