Windows Terminal is now the new default console in Windows 11

The change goes live in the recently released version 22H2 with "Moment 1" update installed. The app now supersedes the classic command prompt and PowerShell options.

By visiting Settings (Win + I) > Privacy & security > For developers, you can change the Terminal drop-down menu to the desired console app. The "Let Windows decide" value, which is set by default, will now make the OS use Windows Terminal.

Windows 11 Builds 22621.870 and 22623.870 are now in Beta

Build 22623.870 comes with two new features.

πŸ†• Braille devices will continue to work when you switch between Narrator and third-party screen readers because Narrator will automatically change the braille drivers.
πŸ†• Added Task Manager to the context menu when right-clicking on the taskbar. Microsoft rolls out this change gradually, so you may not see it right now, but you can force enable this context menu.

Microsoft is working on a new PC Manager app

It includes features like temp file removal, startup app and process manager, a simple "threat" scanner which includes Windows Update status and default browser checks. There is also a storage analyzer that can uninstall apps and find large files.

it can save your time with the one-click "Boost" button that automatically does clean up and applies recommended settings. But here's a catch. The security tab of the app shows a "threat" if you are using anything else, say Chrome or Firefox, and suggests changing the settings to Edge.
