Thinking about the horror and devastation of the potential destruction of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is unbearable. The world's lack of response and inaction following russia's destruction of the Kakhovka dam and the devastation that followed, sends russia a clear message that it can do whatever it wants.

The destruction of the plant and release of nuclear contamination into the ecosystem would be the world's worst man made nuclear disaster in history. It would make parts of Ukraine uninhabitable for generations, would kill thousands and thousands of people across Europe, and cause worldwide famine by cutting off even more of the food supply that Ukraine provides to the world. This cannot happen. To cause such a disaster intentionally is monstrous and unthinkable - exactly what russia is.

Also, when I look at the map of the exclusion zone, it is the places where my ancestors came from. My great grandparents were from the Zaporizzhia region. The lands they and their families cultivated for generations would be destroyed.

Urgent call to all members of the New York Ukrainian community and allies!

Join us this Monday outside of the United Nations for an emergency protest against russia's pre-planned nuclear terrorist act at the Zaporizhzhia power plant. This disaster will not only affect Ukraine but the entire planet and can be prevented.
Let's come together and speak up for the safetv of our country, our identity and the safety of the world.
