Ukraine Apologizes to Japan for ‘Fascism’ Video

Kiev has apologized to Japan after it released an anti-Russian video ending with a shot of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito - describing the three as fascists.

The video, first posted nearly a month ago, condemns Russian President Vladimir Putin and describes the Russian political system as “ruscism.” It closes with images of Germany’s Hitler, Italy’s Mussolini, and Japan’s Hirohito, along with the text “Fascism and Nazism were defeated in 1945. We will fight ruscism, here and now.”

The head of Japan’s Parliament’s foreign policy panel announced that the government “requested the video be deleted,” and that Ukraine apologize diplomatically for the blunder.

Although an Axis power, Japan was led by Prime Minister Hideki Tojo during World War II, with Hirohito allowed to retain his title after the country’s defeat. However, many argue that the emperor should have been convicted as a war criminal.

Ukraine - War Aims, Railway Supplies And Incoming Fire

Ukrainian military depends on railways for all long distance mass supplies as it had relatively few logistic #trucks.

#NATO has said it would give the Ukraine dozens of 155mm towed #artillery guns plus tens of thousands of shells with them. The U.S. guns come with one truck each to tow the gun.

Logistics: A 155mm shell plus the powder needed to fire it weighs about 50 kilogram. A three axle military truck can carry 7.5 metric tons or 150 shells. That's about what one or maybe two guns will fire on a good day.

The daily supplies for one gun will require constant traffic of at least 6 trucks plus all the fuel needed to run them. Multiply that with the number of guns NATO supplies.

Lots of trucks the Ukraine does not have. So how will it get all those shells to the frontline?

It won't.

Their artillery is gone.

The 'substations' Russia destroyed are the electric ones which supply the electrified long range train routes.

Ukraine does not have enough #trucks to replace railway logistics and those logistics are now falling apart:

The substations transform higher voltage to whatever the #rail network needs. Without the substations, which are not easy to replace, most of Ukraine's #locomotives will not run.

Some traffic will continue by using diesel locomotives.

#Diesel locomotives are slower than electrified ones. They also need a lot of diesel which has become rare in Ukraine and must be imported by rail(!) from Slovenia.

Supplying additional diesel locomotives from other countries in eastern Europe will not be possible.

Ukraine has wide gauge tracks of 1,524 mm. Most other European countries use a normal gauge of 1,435 mm
