Free Beacon reports that “the United Kingdom's Parliament on Wednesday held President Joe Biden in contempt for his withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, calling the move “catastrophic" and "shameful."”

Maricopa County Responds to AZ Attorney General’s Office – Requests “No Further Action” Be Taken But Fails to Address ARS 41-1154 in Their Response
In early August, Senator Sonny Borrelli filed a formal 1487 request asking AG Brnovich’s office to investigate Maricopa County for criminal non-compliance with Senate subpoenas. Brnovich gave the County until August 20th to respond.
Maricopa County responded yesterday and asked the AG to take no further action. The Supervisors argue that the AZ Senate has no subpoena enforcement power out of session and failed to pass a contempt resolution to enforce the subpoenas when they were in session, therefore the issue is moot:
“…The allegations in the Request are without merit. The Senate’s authority to enforce the Subpoena through its statutory contempt powers expired on June 30, 2021 with the adjournment of the legislative session. Accordingly, any action taken by MCBOS in relation to the Subpoena did not “violate[] state law or the Constitution of Arizona,” and we respectfully ask that your Office “take no further action” regarding the Request. A.R.S. § 41-194.01(A), (B)(3).1”
The response goes on to cite relevant AZ law regarding enforcement of legislative subpoenas but notably ignores ARS 41-1154, which states that disobedience of a subpoena from the General Assembly is a class 2 misdemeanor.
The County concludes, “For the reasons outlined above, the Senate’s authority to enforce the Subpoena expired on June 30, 2021, there has been no resolution holding MCBOS in contempt, and therefore, no violation of “state law or the Constitution of Arizona.” We respectfully ask that your Office “take no further action” regarding the Request. A.R.S. § 41-194.01(B)(3).

British paratroopers are risking their lives in Afghanistan to save UK citizens from the deadly Taliban after President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdraw from the region.

Senator Doug Mastriano spoke with War Room this morning and said that he was “boxed in by Senate leadership.”
Mastriano had scheduled a Sunshine notification hearing for August 5th and a vote on the audit subpoenas for August 6th — he has majority support for the audit within his Committee. Somehow, we are supposed to believe that our forces have no capabilities to go out to rescue trapped American citizens, Afghan translators, and other Afghans who worked for us. Somehow, we are not supposed to see up-armored HUMVEEs and MRAP vehicles or the Apache helicopter gunships used to clear civilians off the runways a few days ago. We are also not supposed to see the Chinook helicopters they used a few days ago to get everyone from the embassy onto the airfield.
We are supposed to believe that the U.S. military forgot how to set up alternative pickup points around the city, whether back at the old embassy, at other locations around Kabul, or outside the city in a remote field someplace. We just forgot how to contact trapped Americans by text message or covert means to set up a rendezvous with the Chinooks before the Taliban figure out where they are, with Apaches in over-watch security just in case.
We are supposed to believe we don't have the range to fly to Jalalabad and Bagram and other locations within a several-hundred-mile radius to get our people back to Kabul airfield. We are supposed to believe we forgot how to do all that despite doing so in a dozen other noncombatant evacuations over the past 50 years all over the world.
We are supposed to believe that the secretary of defense, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and everyone else in military and civilian leadership are unable to read about how to do non-combatant evacuation as described in U.S. Joint Publication JP3-68, "Noncombatant Evacuation Operations," which is downloadable from the public website along with its own multimedia training presentation.
