1/ The commander of the Nahal Brigade, Col. Arik Moyal, welcomed us in Aita al-Sha'ab with a smile, and spoke of a "sense of victory" -

"We can walk around here safely, before the ceasefire we wouldn't dare stick our heads out because Hezbullah sends explosive drones and we can intercept anti-tank missiles from long ranges"

But while the IDF is trying to sell a sense of victory - the difficult feelings of the residents of the north, who are disappointed by the ceasefire, are also heard inside Lebanon: Reserve fighters we met told us -

"The feeling is unpleasant, to say the least. We came to run over, to win, so that the residents of the north do not experience what they experienced. We were upset that they stopped us at this stage, we could have done more."

2/ I asked the reservists (each of whom had served hundreds of days in reserve since the beginning of the war): Has the threat to the residents of the north been removed?

And they replied: "We tend to believe that it has not."

This voice is important to hear, because it does not come only from Kiryat Shmona - but also from Aita a-Sha'ab

And another thing that could not be ignored: the fighters who are in Lebanon today are the second generation of Lebanese.

Almost every fighter I asked replied that his father fought in '82 or '06, and is now fighting in the Fourth Lebanon War.

One of them said: "I think my son will also fight in Lebanon, unfortunately. There is no escape."

One of the most prominent tasks of the forces on the ground is the destruction of villages and buildings. The IDF says it is only destroying "terror infrastructure,"

Division 162 alone, one of five operating in Lebanon, has already destroyed more than 640 structures.

The commanders explain: A year and a half ago, the IDF cleared the first line of villages, and then Hezbollah established its own companies in the second and third line of villages - and therefore it is necessary to act on them now.

"The next time they want to prepare, it will be in Tyre," said one of the commanders.

3/ The nature of the fighting this time was a little different: Hezbullah did not retreat, but sent hundreds of terrorists to southern Lebanon in the first few days.

The effective weapons were explosive drones and anti-tank missiles. Dozens every day.

"Their weapons are good, but in terms of courage and daring, they have a lot to learn even from Hamas. They hardly went out to fight," the commanders say.

4/ The terrain was also challenging: the weather was very difficult in the first few days. The troops fought in a flood, "mud as high as the tank's turret," and fog.

"It wasn't easy even for the veterans, but on the second and third day we learned - and even in the mud, everything worked. That's how we learned best

The commanders refuse to call the area a "security zone," but rather a "security space," and explain the differences:

This time there will be fewer posts and the forces will be mobile, and this time the population is not allowed to return - and the forces will not be required to distinguish between enemy and civilian.

The challenge will remain with the Christian villages - who have already begun coordinating food and supply convoys.

And a final word about the reservists:

They are very challenged, and that is an understatement.

The attendance rate is 80%+, but we must not let these percentages obscure the situation:

- A reservist company commander who was threatened with being fired at work - was forced to not attend this round this tim

- When the company commander could not attend either, they were forced to disperse the battalion's companies among other battalions

- A soldier who left Lebanon for a job interview in the center of the country, admitted that he hides in interviews the fact that he is a combat reservist - so as not to harm his chances of acceptance.

They need help, and they need more people to come under the stretcher with them. Especially now, when the State of Israel still has hundreds of square kilometers of a new security zone to protect.

❗️ Israel kidnapped an injured Hezbullah fighter who successfully retreated from Bint Jbeil towards the town of Ein Ebl, a Christian town loyal to Israel in Lebanon.

He was to be transferred back to Lebanese territory in a Red Cross ambulance stationed in Rmeich, but the locals in Ein Ebl handed him over to the Israeli army

He has been taken into Israel.
