This castle and this town were destroyed up to 80% degree in the 2006 war. This area was also under Israeli occupation for 22 years.

Diplomatic sources in Beirut told Asharq Al-Awsat that the American paper consists of about 13 clauses, the most controversial of which is a clause that gives both parties the “right to self-defense,” which Lebanon fears will turn into the “freedom of movement” demanded by Israel and rejected by Lebanon
