The United Nations announces the suspension of providing cash aid to refugees in Lebanon starting next month, until the conclusion of discussions with the government about the appropriate mechanism that can be followed.

Lebanon insists the money to be paid in local currency.

Minister of Labour Mustapha Bayram issued a statement a few days ago stressing that “Qassem Bayram” is not a sibling, nor does he have any.

“Qassem and Rana Bayram” have been accused by Canadian NGO This is Lebanon of the enslavement of two African domestic workers. The two foreigners say that they were not paid and physically and sexually abused. It is reported that Rana said that “her husband’s uncle was the Minister of Labour”.

The minister regrets this fabrication involving his name and unrelated to him or his family. This is Lebanon was founded in 2017 by two former migrant workers with the aim to end labour exploitation and the kafala system in Lebanon.

🔴 The head of Hezbullah's parliamentary bloc, Mohammad Raad, ridiculed Gebran Bassil's nomination of Jihad Azor for the presidency of the Republic, calling him a decoy and a maneuver to sabotage the bid of Suleiman Frangieh.

Hezbullah's and FPM's relationship is at an all-time low, due to Bassil's political ego.

Beirut: A Saudi citizen was kidnapped while on the airport road after midnight last Saturday. He was working in Lebanon for Saudia Airlines. His kidnappers are demanding a ransom of 400,000 USD. Security services are now searching for the victim.

Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi commented: “We've been following up with the Information Division concerning the issue of the Saudi national who was kidnapped in Beirut. What happened affects Lebanon's relationship with its allies, and the perpetrators will be severely punished.”

A state of tension prevails in Abdeh, Akkar, where locals have blocked a road to protest against the transfer from Israel of a former Lahd Army member's body and his burial in the area. (Al-Jadeed)

🔴 Despite the kidnapping being criminal, Saudi media intentionally added Hezbullah into the matter, calling Beirut's Suburbs as a “Hezbullah stronghold”.

The Lebanese minister of Interior confirms the Saudi citizen was never in Dahyeh. He was kidnapped from Zaytouna bay, in greater Beirut.

The Lebanese army has started to raid Shrawneh neighborhood in Baalbek in search of the Saudi citizen. The neighborhood is plagued with mafias and drug dealers.

Fatima Matar died a few days ago without knowing the fate of her husband Saeed, who has been missing since 1985 during the civil war.

She and hundreds of other families still await the return of their fathers, husbands, sons...

🔴 The Lebanese Army was able to locate and free the Saudi citizen form captivity in a location on the Lebanese-Syrian border.

Four have been arrested, and search continues.

⋯ The group that kidnapped the Saudi citizen is headed by a drug dealer known as “Abu Saleh”, and it consists of 7 people, according to MTV.

📹 Earlier in June 2022, the army clashed with this drug cartel, and demolished the house of its leader (video). One Lebanese soldier was killed then.

"We have not received any official communication that indicates a decision by the UAE authorities to halt granting visas to the Lebanese."
