The spokesman for the Iraqi Armed Forces, Yahya Rasool, announced foiling a thieve's attempt to escape to Lebanon with one billion Iraqi dinars (764,000,000 USD).

Two U.S. intelligence officials told FDD’s Long War Journal, that Hezbullah’s “Golan Unit” is conducting military exercises in preparation to attack American troops operating in Syria, if the need ever rises.

⋯ The “Golan Unit” is headed by Musa Ali Daqduq, a Hezbullah military commander who was a significant figure in forming the Iraqi resistance groups during the US occupation of Iraq.

⋯ In 2007, Daqduq was captured by the U.S. military. After 11 months, he was transferred to Iraqi custody and released in Nov. 2012

Daqduq soon returned to Lebanon and was placed in charge of training Hezbollah’s special forces.

Beirut: A Saudi citizen was kidnapped while on the airport road after midnight last Saturday. He was working in Lebanon for Saudia Airlines. His kidnappers are demanding a ransom of 400,000 USD. Security services are now searching for the victim.

Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi commented: “We've been following up with the Information Division concerning the issue of the Saudi national who was kidnapped in Beirut. What happened affects Lebanon's relationship with its allies, and the perpetrators will be severely punished.”

A state of tension prevails in Abdeh, Akkar, where locals have blocked a road to protest against the transfer from Israel of a former Lahd Army member's body and his burial in the area. (Al-Jadeed)
