Correction and update: It was Najib Mikati NOT the US mediator Amos Hochstein who said Lebanon has to hand B1 to Israel, according to Jamil al-Sayyed.

Hochstein was surprised and said land demarcation is a different issue.

Speaking today to Sputnik, Lebanon's ambassador to Russia, Chawki Bou Nassar, said that a request for aid made by PM Najib Mikati last May has been approved by Moscow two weeks ago. It was confirmed during a meeting with Russian Deputy FM Mikhail Bogdanov.

Discussions were also held to resume direct flights. Aeroflot used to service them (not the Lebanese airline MEA), however it requires to circumvent Western sanctions.

A week after the famous Ansariyeh ambush, a large IDF force attempted to retaliate against Hezbollah positions in south Lebanon.

As soon as the IDF force was spotted, several ambushes were prepared leading to the death of 4 IDF soldier on 11-12 September 1997.

⋯ During the retreat, one group clashed with an IDF unit, leading to the death of the eldest son of Hezbullah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, Hadi.

Hadi, 18, was in Hezbullah's special forces units. He was killed with Haitham Moghnieh and Ali Kawtharani.
