tbh the actual main problem with catholics they can't really defend is that when you put someone as saint, you honor the guy and alright. but when it becomes a thing where he is better than you, a spiritual guide, you strip him of his humility. seeing saints as "masters" or "veterans" of faith in life is against the whole vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas thing. and when catholics ask for intercession, they do literally this, instead of asking to pray together. and it's not like God is deaf, your prayer alone is insufficient, direct prayers don't work, or you have the excuse I don't have time for this, please pray for me
