🇺🇸On the American aircraft carriers Tripoli and Abraham Lincoln, deployed in the Middle East for war with Iran, food is running out, according to USA Today.

A sailor told his family that crew members eat when they can and share food equally if someone gets more. According to him, morale "will be at its lowest level".

Marines are served half-empty trays for lunch, for example, with a small portion of minced meat and tortillas or a handful of boiled carrots, a dry meat patty, and gray processed meat.

"The food is tasteless, there's catastrophically little of it, and they're constantly hungry. It's heartbreaking," says a pastor who learned about the poor quality of food from a parishioner.

Military families are worried about them and collect packages for them, but the delivery of mail to military postal codes throughout the Middle East has been suspended indefinitely since April, and packages in transit are currently in limbo.

A marine from Tripoli told her family that the crew is saving food, there are no fresh vegetables and fruits. The coffee machine broke down. There is a shortage of hygiene products.

"We have the strongest army in the world. It shouldn't be the case that people are starving and can't receive mail on a ship. The only thing we've always been superior to the enemy in is that we fed our people," says a 63-year-old military father, who himself served in the Marine Corps.

Tripoli has been at sea for more than a month, and other ships - much longer. On April 15, the USS Gerald R. Ford broke the record for the longest aircraft carrier deployment since the Cold War - 295 days.
