Hope everyone's staying safe and well. The past weeks have been intense, and we have finally come to the marking of an important moment regarding the "17+8 Tuntutan Rakyat" movement.

This can be seen from the "Piknik Nasional Rakyat: Deadline Day" action, which commemorated eight days after the passing of Affan Kurniawan as well as the deadline for the urgent demands on Friday (5/9), in front of the DPR RI building, meant for a peaceful protest. The sea of participants wearing green, pink, and blue was a colorful symbol of our resistance, which also featured several other activities like traditional games, open book stalls and readingb spaces, as well as public forums and speeches.

To put everything short, the 17 short-term demands—including freeing detained protesters, ending police repression, and protecting civil rights—have not been fully met as of yesterday's deadline. However, the 8 structural demands, targeting deeper reforms in government transparency, human rights accountability, and the justice system, remain in progress but are still far from resolution.
