It will be interesting to see the reaction from the establishment and media.

The Africans want serious and meaningful repercussions. They want the garda prosecuted and are passing around his image and details.

The media were delighted to wind up the BLM stuff over the summer as it served as an anti-Trump proxy but I get the feeling they would much prefer to omerta this incident without mentioning race or elaborating on the details like they do with any negative story involving Africans. Even r/ireland aren't buying into the racism narrative.

The govt won't want to throw the gardaí under the bus (especially when their image needs to be front-line pandemic heroes) but at the same time they need to appease the Africans (some whom have direct access) who are demanding vengeance.

It's a delicate situation for them.
