16 racially motivated assaults in 2014, according to "Enar", as published by the Irish Times in 2015. (Just the first google result). But they use the figure of "400 racist incidents". So exactly what you'd think. The vast majority of them are being called mean names in public or online. Who cares? How many of you have been slagged online or called names? Get over it. Call me when a racist assault is perpetrated and not criminally punished. Or when an employer is demonstrated to be racially discriminating, and isn't punished for said conduct.

We'll be waiting a while for that.

400 racist incidents out of a population of over 4,900,000. And its not even said whether or not its different people committing them. It could easily be that a handful of very racist people go about regularly harassing people online or in public but lets assume its a different person every time. That's 0.0081% of the population involved in "racial incidents". 0.00032% if restricted to assaults. Does that sound like a pressing and dramatic issue to you?

This was 2014/2015 but same applies to all these ENAR studies.

If these 400 incidents were against Black people (around 65,000 in 2016 CSO) - then in 2014 only 0.67% of Blacks in Ireland have an insult thrown toward them and that's assuming all 400 incidents was racism toward Black people

Again, the incidents and stuff more or less have stayed the same from 2014, even a 30% increase would still have this stuff near under 1% of Africans experiencing it.
