KIDDIE CANNON FODDER: It appears Ukrainian soldiers can't get much younger than these barely 18 year olds (presumably, they are at least 18).

Just as well, kids that have no memory of a common history with Russia are easier to command into position. Hiding out in school gyms is also a common tactic of the Ukrainian army, knowing that Russia doesn't target school facilities.
