دوره مشترک علم داده و تحلیل در دانشگاه نوا لیسبون با همکاری مایکروسافت.
در این دوره با همکاری مایکروسافت به مفاهیم big data پرداخته می شود. این دوره دو ترم طول می کشد. دانشگاه نوای لیسبون دارای رتبه عالی در فهرست وزارت علوم است.

Data Science and the world's deadliest earthquake of the year!
A powerful earthquake struck near the Iran-Iraq border, unfortunately killing around 500 people and injuring thousands of others. The province of Kermanshah in Iran was the most affected area.
In this earthquake, one of the biggest issues for rescue teams was getting aid into the hands of people who need it most. Infrastructure was down, and people had no access to media, basic electricity, even water and food. It was necessary to find people, find supplies and direct aid.
As a data scientist, I can say that the most important help in this situation to act accordingly is information availability. Availability of geo data, geo information systems, remote sensing, satellite data time series and early warning systems. It’s here where data scientists can help a great deal and provide effective response to these kinds of disasters.
However, the mentioned information should get and stay in touch fast, accurate and timely. Data scientists and information management capacities could act as one the main supports of executive units which were working under the umbrella of the National Disaster Management Organization of Iran in recent disaster. In Turkey for example, a new National Emergency Management Information System is currently being put in place, in parallel to an Uninterrupted and Secure Communication System (USCS) Project, to link authorities during disasters and emergency situations.
Data scientists also could be responsible to upgrade the seismic surveillance networks and facilitate emergency response by working on big data from different social networks, advanced Bayesian statistics and spatial analysis to empower early warning systems and help to determine what the spots are that demand the relief, then use supply chain optimization to assure things are moving along efficiently to achieve a desired results.
Monetary and financial institutions have the same positions and responsibilities. Providing financial services for customers in the area of catastrophe will be under some rough limited regulations of customer identification especially in the lack of custom certifications that for example banks are used to. Making a balance between risk management requirements and timely service providing is a big challenge which can be managed effectively only by using the techniques and services of data science.
Only in this state we can confront that big issue which was mentioned before.
