From this point of view, this claim of Greece, which does not include its territorial waters and considers this area for the rescue and protection of human life as a violation of its sovereignty, is far from legal and humanitarian reasons. The arbitrariness mentioned refers to the updating of the search and rescue areas in the current conditions, where our country provides these services. Our country's search and rescue area has been expanded to ensure the safety of our businesses on our continental shelf in the eastern Mediterranean. Turkey, with successful maritime search and rescue activities, in contrast to Greece, which operates with political motives, acts with humanitarian motives.

On the other hand, Greece continues to leave unanswered requests for cooperation and coordination with our country in accordance with the provisions of the International Convention of Maritime Search and Rescue of Hamburg of 1979 on the overlapping areas of responsibility for search and rescue of the two coastal countries in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean. Moreover, claiming that these areas are a region of domination, Greece did not hesitate to leave the safety of human life in the second place and showed this attitude by the inhuman treatment of illegal immigrants in the Aegean Sea.
