🔴 Greek authorities "rescued" 39 illegal immigrants stranded in an island in the middle of the Evros river

🔸 The 39 illegals were located after an NGO warned Greek authorities that the group was stranded after trying to cross the Evros river from Turkey into Greece, the Greek authorities later located them and performed the rescue

‼️ 13 men, 11 women and 15 so called "minors" of unknown ages and nationalities were "rescued", more specific data regarding their ages and nationalities have not been made public and probably wont

🔸 According with them, they were transported by a smuggler. An inflatable boat was used and they were left in the islet while the smuggler left. Since the authorities confirmed that the islet was on the Greek side of the border, they rescued the group

In the May 21 elections ND(New Democracy, Νέα Δημοκρατία), under PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, wrote history. A landslide victory was achieved, falling just short of an outright majority (151 seats, ND won 146).

Kyriakos Mitsotakis has stated that he would push for a snap election, since Greece needs a government that believes in reforms, and this cannot happen with a fragile government. New Democracy has the approval of the citizens to govern independently and strongly.
