Edward Gene Smith, 50, a former Citibank executive in New York, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for a series of rapes and sexual assaults committed over the course of a decade.

The man drugged his young victims with Klonopin in his luxurious apartments near Central Park, raped them, and filmed the abuse to share it online. He possessed more than 9,000 images of child sexual abuse.

Smith, who was married and had stepchildren, hid his double life behind the facade of a high-level executive.

Prosecutors described his crimes as “calculated and remorseless.”

Russia has declared Telegram founder Pavel Durov wanted internationally on charges of assisting terrorist activity

The reason was the refusal of Telegram’s administration to delete a number of channels, chats, and bots at the request of the FSB.

Russian special services published a video in which they presented as evidence screenshots of conversations allegedly discussing sabotage activities on Russian territory.

Users immediately noticed that the interface in the screenshots, supposedly from Telegram, is identical to the FSB-controlled social network VK, but not Telegram.

The official Telegram account responded to these false accusations by the Kremlin’s special services by publishing a photo of Pavel Durov making a characteristic gesture.
