⚡REDDIT FINED £14.47 MILLION FOR VIOLATING CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Reddit has been fined £14.47 million by the UK Information Commissioner's Office for illegally processing the data of children under the age of 13.

The platform did not adequately verify the age of users, allowing unauthorized access and use of their personal data.

This exposed minors to inappropriate and potentially harmful content.

No data protection impact assessment has been carried out for risks to children.

The fine, the highest ever issued by the ICO for child privacy, covers the period from 2018 to 2025.

Reddit announces appeal against the decision.
